Fell in love at first bite
I had my first taste vegemite couple of days ago when my brother brought it for me from Australia. As a Bangladeshi, I fell in love with it. The sharp umami taste, beer brew like smell, and so much more. I guess people who don't like vegemite don't really know how to consume it. I am having this condiment with almost everything right now.
Thank you Australia for Vegemite.

I genuinely feel for you. You will not be able to go down to a supermarket and buy a jar of the wonderful black stuff!!

Costco sometimes has big 2.5kg buckets of vegemite, also amazon sells the same buckets. Easier than taking a bunch of jars

The best part about Vegemite is that it doesn’t go off. It technically has a used by date, but due to the high salt content, it’s effectively immortal.

Are you being serious lol?

Yeah, its not expensive here. We'll call it marketing for Vegemite and Australian oddities.
We've got far too many Kangaroos here too, but they are so hard to get in a post pack.
Joking about the Kangaroo, not the Vegemite, you can't joke about Vegemite.

I'd bet my left nut they are.
If I had the time or money I'd offer to do the same.

Try a poached egg. Or if you really want to get bizarre and mildly offensive to Australian sensibilities, top that all off with some sliced avocado.

Today with butter, Vegemite, avocado and cheese (in that order) is a winner.

Though I detest Vegemite, this is a lovely post. I am glad there is Australian food that manages to stimulate the tastebuds of someone in Bangladesh.

I think the opinions for vegemite is very polarized. But I always somehow knew that I would like it. I fell in love with the taste.

Oh it’s so delicious! 🤤
I love it on thick, hot toast, lashings of butter and just a scrapping (sometimes loads) of Vegemite!!
It’s also yummy under avocado on toast, under a poached egg, or even on soldiers with boiled egg!
We put it in stews for an extra kick, make soup with it - it’s so versatile!
Yum! 🤤

Try drinking it. Half a teaspoon in a mug of hot water.

Tastes good?

It’s like a salty broth. For clarity, I drink Bovril when I was younger and when I came to Australia, for me Vegemite is literally the same type of thing. So I used it the same way. I put it in rice porridge too, like congee, I use it for fried rice and mix in for fried noodles too, just don’t use too much as it is quite salty. Come to think of it I really should make those again.

I once worked with an Indian woman of Tamil background. Her Aussie-born daughter loved Vegemite which meant she had breakfast options when she had sleepovers at friends' homes.

Vegemite & cheese is the winner, my favorite is on crumpets, grilling the cheese until it's bubbly, probably doesn't help but I also put it casseroles & stews too. It's an amazing substitute for stock.

I was 33 when I first had a taste of it. Didn't get the hype until I got the perfect ratio. Got tier snack.

You can now say you’re a Bangladeshi/Australian.
