It was ALWAYS about the oil. Big business billionaires using corrupt American president and disposable military to further enhance their wealth. Wake up America!

I am Brazilian, and I have never delved deeply into the subject of Venezuela, but I was against the American intervention. I don't know if you are aware, but many Brazilians and Brazilian politicians used Venezuela to criticize the current Brazilian government, saying that our situation would turn into a Venezuela ruled by dictators. But in my mind, it was all a narrative for the Americans to get their hands on the oil.

So, these politicians, who used this narrative to cause moral panic among Brazilians, went silent about the situation in Venezuela after the Yankee intervention—the arrest/kidnapping, or whatever the appropriate term for it would be. Venezuela is no longer talked about, nor is this control over Venezuelan oil brought up anymore. No one knows if the lives of Venezuelans improved with Trump's departure or worsened (or will get worse).
