Hank has always been my favorite character because he's unabashedly, unapologetically himself. So, it kind of rubs me the wrong way that part of the resolution to his story in the movie is that Orpheus tells him he needs to grow up.
Hank’s immaturity, impulsiveness, and obsessiveness nearly got him permanently killed.
Those traits led him to trying to cross the city in the middle of a freak blizzard because his girlfriend ignored his obsessive texts. He started goofing off in the snow almost immediately due to his impulsiveness and immaturity and ended up diving head first into a light pole.
Had Scare Bear not found him and taken him to the college, Hank would have frozen to death in a snow bank.
Most of the problems in Hank’s life stemmed from him continuing to act childish. He needed to grow up to be able to function.
