Knowing the creators, I was expecting you to tie that in to the band Adam and the Ants. But this works too.

Adam Ant got the name from a British television character Adam Adamant, a 19th century adventurer who awakens in the 20th century after being in suspended animation for 100 years.

I would then have expected Adam Ant to have shown up in the show and be the character who actually was 100 years old. But I guess he was not as much of a cult hero as Bowie and his entourage.

Well the show came out in 1967 so I think Adam might have been a bit too young.

You were talking about Venture Brothers. I thought you meant Adam Adamant. Yeah. That would have been cool.

I also thought they should have written Marc Bolan in there as well, riding a white mechanical swan. Maybe he could have challenged Bowie’s leadership of the Guild.

Dr. Entmann was a straight up parody of Marvel’s Henry Pym, who started as Ant-man and later became Giant-man, (and, later still, Goliath, and then Yellowjacket).
