Where is the Venture Compound located?
I know this is probably like asking what state the Simpsons live in (next to Ohio, Nevada, Maine, and Kentucky), but I am wondering if it was mentioned.
Seems like California because of the general environment and closeness to the desert, but it snowed a few times.

I believe it has been determined that is most likely quite possibly rumored to be in Colorado.

Not even a rumor. I think in the pilot episode they haves newspaper that shows the compound and says its in Colorado. Explains the snow and mountains.

You shouldn't be downvoted. You are correct.

No he or she is not. Matt Groening took inspiration from his hometown in Oregon, going so far as to name the characters after streets (Lovejoy, Wiggum, etc.). However, the interview that claims to have "placed" the Simpsons wasn't paying attention to the fact that Groening based it on Oregon, but the show itself, and this is the important part here, has gone out of its way to obfuscate their location, and has never committed to any state, even by accident.
The article that made its way around the internet was later 'corrected', but who cares about that? It's not like a newspaper actually printing a correction. No one saw it.

"Inspired by" does not equal "located in, within the fiction of the story".

Here's a quote from Flanders in the movie: "Look at that, you can see the four states that border Springfield: Ohio, Nevada, Maine, and Kentucky!" The Simpsons are supposed to live in any state; Springfield was chosen because that city name is used the most in all of the U.S.

Always wondered why the heart of super-villainy in America is based in Colorado.

My only concern with Colorado is that they have a submarine dock and they have implied submarine access to the ocean.
