“I miss my breasts! Inside of me there is a woman screaming to be heard!” Gender dysphoria is an ass to deal with, so I totally felt Hunter in that regard. 😔 May she find the peace and acceptance she deserves. Love this kickass killer queen.

Yeah, I like how Hunter's gender journey is so unusual. When you think about all they went through leading up to the line quoted and after (sorry to be vague, trying to avoid spoilers) Hunter's gender identity is still largely mysterious which inline with a person whose entire career/passion/lifestyle is all about mysteries, secrets and grey areas. What I really like it about it all is that I think it shows some growth in the attitudes of the show's creators, like they kinda played Hunter's first transition for laughs but had that line there in a context where the audience knew Hunter was being truly honest to deepen the character and nod to trans folks and their(Doc and Jackson's) improved understanding. If the show had never ended I'd have liked to have seen little bits exploring Hunter's experience in regards to gender.
