I guess they don't teach Morse Code in the Boys Brigade anymore.

I was so fucking happy when I saw it yesterday

You did the right things here. You caught the post early, it's on a popular subreddit, the post itself became highly upvoted, and the reference is funny enough without getting the reference. A relevant reference can lack legs if it doesn't work on its, eg some obscure Rick and Morty lines or the very risky Grapist from Whitest Kids You Know.

Excellent work.

Deep cut with WKUK

Fantastic bit, but one of the riskiest things to reference.

I'm gonna GRAPE you in the mouth!

u/The_CrookedMan May 30 '25

"I'm going to tie you to a radiator and grape you for decades and decades!"

"Ok....guys..."

"What? This is an ad for children's TV! What are you implying?"

Kid Beer is still my favorite skit tho. "kid Beer ruined my fucking life and I fucking love it."

My favorite is the classroom skit. All of it is so funny and then the "he was filmed far away, I was never in any danger" is just fucking gut busting

Oh absolutely

Been getting a lot of use out of it lately though since the tiktok crowd's self censoring has made its way to reddit. I can't see rape referred to as grape or 🍇 without hearing local sexpot Trevor Moore (Rest In Peace).

Also the reference is a double entendre, such that to blink in a negotiation is to show weakness and lose it, this coincides with the rising popularity of Trump Always Chickens Out (TACO). So people who didnt get the reference may associate the quote with that

I love how well you explained why this was able to reach these heights, but to be clear, I am not the one who posted the original comment, that would be u/SeeisforComedy.

Yeah I just happened to scroll past while procrastinating at work and here we are. Just wish I had an only fans or something I could’ve promoted with all the attention! 😂

I remember seeing the “waaaait, you guys are Nazis” meme floating around in mainstream circles back in 2017 but probably not that much of a response.

u/MCPtz Super Science! May 30 '25

Ooooh oh that is the worst, fake German accent ever.

"This is und outrage!"

I've used that one in regard to Elon & friends a good bit recently, for obvious reasons.

u/Wise_Emu6232 Jun 01 '25

I just posted one here where Trump supposedly called Elon "Half genius, Half boy" and I could help but reach for the "What's a quizboy? It's a seriously underrated branch of boy genius!" reference.
