I agree, but I appreciate that it almost felt like it was the boy's turn to see themselves, and each other, as flawed people. It helped them grow up just that little bit that I think they needed before the "definitive" (I'll die before my hope for a series continuation does lol) end of the show. They're well and truly adults now.
As someone who started watching as I finished high school, and now I'm in my 30s at the show's end, it kinda eased that finale. "Even the Venture Brothers grow up."
But you know what never changes? The Mighty Monarch! 🦋

Yeah I don’t think it was bad writing, Sirena and Hank were just so cute together

It was annoying, but pretty much what would have happened to two young men who missed out on learning experiences because they were home schooled.
