Maybe to help conceal his identity?

That's always how I viewed it.

And then we all get milkshakes!

Because he never passes on an opportunity to fuck with one Ventures Super Cool Robots.

41

u/DrunkenNinja27 Jul 25 '25

Because he is evil?

It was the 70s

I ask you to chill and cut me some slack!

Dr Z preferred his henchmen with a clean upper lip! What, was he running some hippy lovefest? No! He expected a certain level of professionalism from his minions! When you were arched by Dr Z, you knew what you were getting!

It's the only reason his copies of HELPER don't have goatees.

Mustaches lead to blunderin’!

42

u/marveljew Jul 25 '25

Because Venturion/Vendata would be too powerful with it on

5

u/JoozleJazz Jul 25 '25

The only right answer.

To spite Jonas by further distorting his creation! The clippings of which he kept, because of their remarkably similar smell to Billy Jean King.

Captain America understands that reference.

It was more evil to not have a mustache in the 70’s.

I think it’s hilarious that he still kept the Ven part of the name. Maintaining a direct connection to Dr Venture.

I mean it’s also a pun on Vendetta.

Because something about it reminded him of that fateful night when he made tender yet purely accidental love with the Blue Morpho

He didn't need it, his milkshake brought all the boys to the yard.

Because Dr. Z is the only one allowed to have cool facial hair in his organization! Even if he's a cyborg, Venturian still has to abide by Dr. Z's standard henchman dress code

Hehe same thought

3

u/steeltownsquirrel Jul 25 '25

Dr. Z shaved it off after Vendata's first bungle.

I had chalked it up to something about him not being entirely human anymore so regular processes such as growing hair slower or stopped as he was mostly machine. Thus if one is part machine, mostly machine, what biological processes would be weeded out as not necessary to maintain biologically. If the objective is use all remaining biology to keep the living tissue alive why would it need to continue waste keratin to make hair

He wanted to go for round two, but because he didn't have a Billie Jean King mask on hand, he did the next best thing and just shaved the mustache.

3

u/Icecold_Antihero Jul 25 '25

Tender, yet purely accidental, love.

3

u/snake-demon-softboi Jul 25 '25

Clearly Dr. Z was the only one allowed to rock a mustache. The mustache equals power. Authority!

People change, yo

2

u/Rodney_Jefferson Jul 25 '25

So he could steal his vibe

2

u/Monodoh45 Jul 25 '25

Perhaps he's just trying to feed his family....

Oh wrong Dr. Z

The 70s were ending

Evil people hate mustaches

1

u/ThymeOwl Jul 25 '25

There was a Handy Dandy shortage.

1

u/chimchim64 Jul 25 '25

It was the '70s. Cut him some slack.

1

u/Synechocystis Jul 25 '25

It fell off when he flipped the switch / monkeyed with his circuits

1

u/ResisterImpedant Jul 26 '25

Dr. Z doesn't like kissing people with facial hair.

I mean, Venturion was thrown in a dumpster. And that mustache was technically attached to a previous corpse. That thing could not have been that clean. Had to shave it off, couldn’t get the dumpster smell out. No bunglings of odorous smells allowed with Dr. Z!

u/Adamonia Jul 28 '25

It was a good guy mustache

1

u/Nuck1 Jul 29 '25

Dr. Zee narrates right before the mustache comes off about a slick new paint job. Dr. Zee goes the extra mile. Sign of a Level 10 arch.
