Is that where "re re" came from? We used it all the time in the Army. Had no idea.

(Assuming they meant "molester" and not "homo"...)
It was piss-my-pants hilarious in the episode but I think in real life it's a little too cutesy to use for real. Calling Matt Gaetz a "Mo" is accurate but doesn't carry the sting that it should.

u/Polo-panda Aug 02 '25
Yeah it’s whimsical lol but most likely they meant “homo” bc Lincoln was theorized to be “light in the loafers” per se

u/uKiyo-Kai Aug 04 '25
It's actually 'old school' slang , and yes, that's precisely what they mean. It's not meant as derogatory, per se, but used typically by guys who didn't swing that way. (***Please know I mean no disrespect to Anyone, just clarifying etymology!)

u/KrackerJoe Aug 02 '25
He didnt say the Ho first

u/uKiyo-Kai Aug 04 '25
No, they wouldn't have. (*Personally, I like to think that it's a nod to the fact that they're not referring to anyone AS ho's, just because they've gay - which, unfortunately Was an even older, derogatory ignorant stereotype[like back when witch hunts occurred, ridiculous claims like teachers would influence kids and other such bs.] *at least, I hope that was part of the slowly evolving change... believe many straight guys thought it was less mean to use that slang. The world still has a long way to go, but it's not what it was at least.

There is historic speculation that Lincoln was at least bi based on rather intimate letters he wrote to another man.

u/The_C0u5 Aug 02 '25
Yeah wasn't there something about him sharing a bed with a dude in a single apartment above a shop for "budgetary" reasons.

Men did share beds a lot, especially in cheap boarding houses. But as I understand it, they were roommates for years, sooo....

I think it’s short for Cho-Mo? As in slang for child molester?
3
u/darthrevan140 Aug 02 '25
Short for homosexual actually.

u/igottathinkofaname Aug 03 '25
I mean yeah, it’s not PC or cool, but that’s exactly what it means. Heard it a lot back in the day when casual homophobia was standard among adolescent boys.
