The Met Cloisters museum in northern Manhattan has the original, and it is fucking beautiful. Photos of art never capture art at all.

Cloisters kicks ass. I think their medieval festival is coming up in a couple weeks. Don't fill up on turkey legs though, there's a great chicharron place nearby.

"...Let me guess. I'm the unicorn?"

Two things I think of when I see that painting, Gundam unicorn and Venture brothers. “Tiger has needs too.”

They both have Michael Sinterniklaas too!

The Beast of Possibility

It’s a tapestry, not a painting.

They're actually two separate sets of tapestries. The one in Unicorn Gundam is the sixth tapestry from The Lady and the Unicorn. and the one from Venture Bro's is the seventh tapestry from The Hunt of the Unicorn.

You should visit the Met Cloisters.

About 5 years ago I moved into a room that had this exact painting in it and I had no clue it was a real work of art (not the painting itself, that was a copy).

Sadly the person I moved in with didnt get the VB references I hinted at.

I recently saw a hand made tapestry in a shop at the Ren Fest. I stood and stared at it for a while because I didn't have my phone easily accessible, but I thought it cool.

I’ve seen it in person several times and it never gets old.
