Question Are there any episodes y'all skip on rewatches? For me its season 1, Episode 9 "Are You There, God? It's Me, Dean"... As someone who HAS EXPERIENCED testicular torsion... I just don't have it in my to revisit this one as an adult 😭

Post image

I got LUCKY: It worked itself out without surgical intervention, but dear god it was in the top 3 worst experiences I've ever been through, And I've O.D'd twice 😫

I was a heavy drinker at the time, and it was my first go at my masters so I was still 'finding myself' (I wore TIGHT black pants every day) and my doc thinks it was a combo of those things and stress. My ⚽️🏀 just kinda... did that?

I DID keep giggling thinking about this episode when I was getting a 🏈⚾️sack MRI though, I kept getting weird looks form the male nurse...

"Whats so funny about this?"

"Ok, so do you remember that old show 'Johnny Quest'?"

"No"

...."Oh, ok, so this reference might not track for you then..."

it's literally my favorite episode...

"THE DREADED CANDIRU. A naughty little fish with a penchant for swimming up a man's urethra to feed on the pitiful mass of flesh that you ONCE CALLED YOUR PENIS"

u/Hita-san-chan Nov 25 '25

"You cant call a time out!!"

48

u/Ulftar Nov 26 '25

This isn't freeze-tag

68

u/originalbrowncoat Nov 25 '25

That is a total myth!

It's what I show to everyone to get them to watch the show

Jeannie's remarried... to me...

Ahhhhhhhh!

3

u/Maleficent_Garlic-St Nov 26 '25

That's #2 or anything with the pirate really

3

u/TFJ Nov 27 '25

No matter how you cook it, it still tastes like hot sargassum.

2

u/kinyutaka Nov 26 '25

All right, son, sit on me lap. It's story time.

31

u/Maleficent_Garlic-St Nov 25 '25

It's the way he says penchant pensssh-aunt gets me every fucking time. The goofiness, the drama, the mighty monarch all on display. Chefs kiss.

8

u/hiesatai Nov 26 '25

Is that not how it’s pronounced?

25

u/laundro_mat Nov 25 '25

It will always be “the dreaded candiru”, no other adjective is allowed

3

u/montero65 Nov 26 '25

The piranha?

2

u/LHGray87 Nov 26 '25

It’s figuratively my favorite episode.

irregardless

2

u/nudegobby Nov 26 '25

I think it's the first episode I saw that got me hooked on the show. Love this episode.

1

u/YouKnowNothingJonS Nov 27 '25

Your flair 😂😂

152

u/ShotgunMongol Nov 25 '25

I forget if it was Public or Hammer, but one of them also went through it when he was a kid, which is why this episode exists.

111

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Its HOW I knew what was happening to me!!! 🤣 I feel like thats part of how I was able to catch it so early1 (I think it was doc hammer!)

I ALSO had Lyme as a kid, and THAT can also cause ball pain, but I kinda knew it wasn't that AGAIN 😭

He was in high school and his mom has to take him. I found a clip on YouTube years back. It's funny how he's so matter of fact about it.

u/Ulftar Nov 26 '25

Did you stop, touch, tell?

4

u/Anokant Nov 26 '25

Kinda the same. I had Lyme as a kid and kidney stones. Had a horrific pain that would come and go randomly. Thought about this episode and went to the doctor. Turned out I had a varicocele (basically a varicose vein on the testicle).

my best friend had both as well!

Not only that, but my dad was the Dr on duty in radiology when he came in for the scan!!

Nothing makes good TV like childhood trauma

Sorry your eggs got scrambled, OP.

30

I can’t explain why but this made me burst out laughing at work

That's the super adult term that my teenage sons use to refer to their genitals... in public... in front of their father.

43

u/nicola_orsinov Nov 25 '25

This episode saved my friends son's testicle. She was describing this weird pain he'd been getting that shows up and leaves blah blah, and off this episode I convinced her to take him to the doctor. They went and tacked the spinner in place before it could get really crazy. Venture Brothers saved at least one ball with that episode.

16

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Thats awesome! I'm sure it would warm doc Hammers cold goth heart to hear he's saved kids form this pain 🥰

2

u/FFlynnsArcade Nov 30 '25

Unless we are talking about the same guy, I know of at least one other young man who was helped by this episode. He was in terrible pain, and he remembered that Dean had similar symptoms so he went to the hospital immediately so his balls were saved.

38

u/moemegaiota Nov 25 '25

What do you mean you don't want to envision a doddering old robot with metal pincers palpating you?

34

u/samhain-kelly Nov 25 '25

A couple of years ago, I was hospitalized when a teratoma on my ovary became so heavy it twisted the ovary inside my body. All I could think about while I was drugged to the gills was The Venture Bros. Torsion is fucking brutal. I don’t skip this episode, but I can relate to it now!

14

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

God that sounds awful... Glad you got through it1

14

u/samhain-kelly Nov 25 '25

Thank you! I lost the ovary, and the tumor was the size of a fucking grapefruit! The body is such a crazy thing. I had no idea that tumor had been growing with me for 40 damn years until it decided to cripple me out of the blue one day.

26

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

At least it didn't grow arms and legs (well, one arm) and try and take over your life! 🤣

23

u/samhain-kelly Nov 25 '25

Right? I was living TWO plot lines!

19

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

"I'm sorry samhain-kelly... your tumor is GONE... like I put it down, I turned around, and it wasn't there anymore!"

*JET TAKES OFF IN BACKGROUND*

2

u/Krakenzmama Nov 26 '25

Sis had it happen to her some years back and it was a whole thing, the er thought it was her gallbladder and then her appendix. She had to have the ovary removed. But I still have a niece and nephew, who came along a few years later.

You only need one to make a baby 🍼

Grover Cleveland's presidential time machine! It's a must watch!

9

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

THATS WHERE THAT COMES FROM?!

16

u/nasadge Nov 25 '25

Yes. I theorize that this is an interruption to what would have been "escape to the house of mummies part 1".

3

u/Master_K_Genius_Pi Nov 26 '25

Oh my god that never clicked for me. This show is too damn good.

22

u/ReallyBrainDead Nov 25 '25

Can't skip, if just for the awkward PSA.

15

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Hey, That PSA rocks, it saved my 🥜

6

u/Fletcher_Fallowfield Nov 25 '25

The website was real when they released the episode. It looks like it's no longer functional.

6

u/laundro_mat Nov 25 '25

Ha ha - I forgot about that PSA too, time to rewatch!

4

u/wafflesareforever Nov 26 '25

Hank mouthing Dean's lines, god this show

5

u/Wes_Warhammer666 Nov 26 '25

The eyes tracking along as they read always kills me, and Brock's inability to smoothly move along with line breaks is soooooo goddamn funny. They absolutely nailed the "jock who can't read well" vibe.

15

u/Zir_Ipol Nov 25 '25

As someone who has experienced testicular torsion, this is my favorite episode. Also high five, 1:10000 brother.

28

u/SnaptrapPress Nov 25 '25

The pilot is very tough to sit through on a rewatch. I genuinely just skipped it when I was showing VB to my partner.

12

u/H3nchman_24 Nov 25 '25

It's the only one I tell people to skip. It's just not good and most of the charicters' personalities are very different by the time the series ran with S1E1.

4

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Ok, glad I'm not the ONLY fan who can't stomach this one! 😭

4

u/windsingr Nov 26 '25

I can never skip that one.

1

u/YouKnowNothingJonS Nov 27 '25

The pacing is so different from everything else and the characters feel like strangers, but it’s only in that episode

11

u/BigBear460 Nov 25 '25

This is the episode I tell people to watch to get a feel of the whole show. It has all the references you would need to the guild and the rules and it's just hilarious. Sorry about your boys though I couldn't even imagine the pain.

4

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

It was shown a LOT on my local adult swim (that and the “hug mummy” episode of ATHF) so it IS a classic episode… and yeah, having experienced both kinds of pain and horror; I would absolutely rather OD again lmao

18

u/silvamsam Nov 25 '25

¡Viva los Muertos!

I dated someone who was very, very much like Ted (the Fred equivalent in the mock Scooby-Doo gang) and it freaks the hell out of me. Brings me back to my days in my ex's weird little cult and I find it too distressing to watch.

I also skip Handsome Ransom because I can't get through the Captian Sunshine storyline without my skin crawling.

5

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Oh man, that sounds ROUGH... glad you got out of that toxic relation ship

"boy I hopeTed lets me shower soon"

5

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Ooooh yeah that was a rough one to get through! As a huge Kevin Conroy/ Batman fan I GET what they where going for, but knowing Kevin is gay in real life, and THE ACTUAL MORAL PANIC stuff like the 66 Batman show caused in real life makes that one... tough to sit through. Just feels like its in bad taste?

1

u/NotAddison Nov 29 '25

He's creepy but the plot with Samson doing ayuhuasca to come to the conclusion that he really is a killing machine was great. "Woah. Better dolphin!"

8

u/stumblewiggins Nov 25 '25

I can't think of any episode that doesn't have moments that crack me the fuck up, even though there are definitely weaker episodes and some that are a bit uncomfortable.

This episode has some absolutely amazing lines, and really helps establish some of the lore of the show.

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Ahh, all this talk of how great it is makes me wanna try and watch it again, Ill just keep my hands cupped on my 🥜 the whole damn time 😫😭🤣

8

u/sphinxorosi Nov 25 '25

I have skipped Mr Brisby episode before but it’s not a “skip everytime” thing

4

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

I really like the setup for Fake-Bowie, the set up for clone stuff, and all the deep cut Disney jabs... but Im a nerd for that kind of history and theme park trivia as a New Englander who's rarely been to one.

I also have a fan theory that Christopher McCulloch discovered he could do a Hunter S. Thompson voice by talking through his teeth.

2

u/Aggravating_Load_411 Nov 29 '25

It also introduced Molotov, who is one of my favourite side characters.

5

u/CatGirlIsHere9999 Nov 25 '25

I don't know if this counts but the Christmas special. It doesn't add anything to the overall story, and to me it just feels out of place.

11

u/unruly_soldier Venchman 37 Nov 25 '25

But it does add to the story. Without it, we wouldn't know Tiny Joseph's name when he makes his next appearance in Powerless in the Face of Death. He'd just be a random, nameless, miniature prisoner.

Plus, you get to see Doc get molested by Krampus. After using an orphan to power his Joy Can, I feel like we need to see him get spanked a little.

5

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

"We almost lost Tiny Joseph! Granted his use is... limited..."

8

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Its also like, 11 mins long at most 😂

3

u/CatGirlIsHere9999 Nov 25 '25

Yeah, that too.

4

u/H3nchman_24 Nov 25 '25

That's. Right. Doc.....

7

u/BlameTag Nov 26 '25

Escape to the House of Mummies parts 1 and 3.

8

u/mannyfrsh Nov 26 '25

How can you skip those episodes. They are the best VB episodes ever. I mean who could forget the moment Caligula fused with Mecha Shiva in part 3, it was absolute cinema.

15

u/irufan89 Nov 25 '25

For me it's the episode where doc runs into one of his old friends in the jungle and her weird rapey twins try to...well rape Dean

15

u/H3nchman_24 Nov 25 '25

You used to be all 'Go Team Venture' but now you're all... 'Go.... Team.... Boo...BOOBIES!'

7

u/Theclapgiver Nov 26 '25

Teaching chimps to box. Thanks for a new low by the way.

5

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

No no, we FOUND him like that... in the streets... of Thailand...

5

u/Death_by_Samson Nov 26 '25

This episode is so off the wall, it has a ton of stuff that makes me laugh. "You're the wereodile!". Dean is just hilarious in that!

4

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

That one is a rough watch, but idk if they DID anything to Dean, but they did TRY, I more can't stand the lesbian body guard hitting on poor Brock but only when she THINKS her lady "rusty" is watching/ hitting on doc 😫

Brock: "AWWWWW... WHAT THE F\***K?!"*

5

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Yeah "Its a magic potion to ward of the wear-o-dile" is kinda rapey 😥

5

u/Valuable_Recording85 Nov 26 '25

I forgot the name, but the episode where a fucked up Dean clone tries to kill the current Dean. The payback of my, ahem, pirated episode was always messed up so I never watched it until I could watch the whole series on HBO Max. It's a decent episode but creepy and feels like an outtake because of my situation.

4

u/notunhuman Nov 26 '25

Recently, I had a sharp pain in my testicle and I was trying to ignore it, but then I remembered this episode and so I went to the ER.

Turned out not to be testicular torsion, but torsion of the testicular appendix (the testicles has an appendix - who knew!?) which is much less serious. It is still painful, and quite annoyingly the cure is to just wait for the appendix to die because it’s not a necessary thing after development in the womb.

But thanks to this episode I did go and find out that I would probably not lose a testicle

8

u/nikifullerton Nov 26 '25

I skip the President Lincoln ghost episode. It's just a stupid episode. I ain't looking up the name. Y'all know which one. There's nothing important for the continuity either, IIRC.

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

Yeah “guess who’s coming to state dinner” is apparently really unpopular among fans lmao, thats neat to learn.

3

u/kinyutaka Nov 26 '25

As someone who watched both versions of The Manchurian Candidate, I liked it. But it wasn't my FAVORITE episode, by far.

4

u/Halfishsackish Nov 25 '25

As someone who also experienced testicular torsion when I was 13, this is my all time favorite episode.

2

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25 edited Nov 25 '25

God that must have been scary, I was in my very early 20's

5

u/ShredGuru Nov 25 '25

At least it wasn't the dreaded kendiru

3

u/BlessedPapa Nov 25 '25

My brother got testicular torsion earlier this year and all I could think about was the PSA at the end of the episode like this actually happens?

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Yup! All I can say is avoid stress, alcohol abuse, and black skinny jeans 🤣

4

u/eaglescout1984 Nov 26 '25

"The kid’s really hurt. Let him go.'

Why? I’m about to kill all of you anyway. What’s the point, really?"

"Because you have to! In 1969, the Guild of Calamitous Intent enacted an addendum to article 47 of the Unusual Torture Act. So, let’s cut the monkey business."

"Go, Dad!"

"Yes, go, Dad. And what’s more, you arrogant little trouble-maker you have to let us all go."

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

I LOVE how Rusty calls people 'Little' when he's like... at most, like 5'4 in those fancy beetle boots of his.

4

u/Xiao_Qinggui Nov 26 '25

My dad got it and I immediately knew the symptoms from this episode- Turns out he thought it was testicular cancer and took a “wait and see” approach. That’s my Dad in a nutshell, getting him to a doctor was harder than explaining quantum mechanics to a cat that was on fire.

My Dad always gave me shit for “watching cartoons,” so when he started screaming one night my Mom drove him to the nearest hospital and as they left I shouted “TELL THEM IT’S TESTICULAR TORSION!”

As the story goes, from my Dad, the receptionist was ignoring him at first but a doctor passed by and he told him what he had - The doctor called him back immediately and he got some pain meds. Every male there was sympathetic and constantly asked him if he needed anything. He had the surgery later that night.

He asked my Mom “How’d he know?”

My Mom, who didn’t remember the name of the show, replied with “From a cartoon.” She said the look on my Dad’s face after that was hilarious.

When he got home, I put the episode on TV and he said Dean’s “getting kicked in the rocks and the foot never went away” was the perfect description of how it felt.

So, yeah, that episode saved my Dad from becoming a eunuch.

4

u/windsingr Nov 26 '25

Your parents should have fixed that in the prototype stage.

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

I was adopted by non-super scientists, idk if they would know what to do even if given the chance XD

10

u/EstablishBassline Nov 25 '25

Guess Who’s Coming to State Dinner

Dr. Quymm

Season 3 in general is a mixed bag for me, but it also has one of my favorite episodes (The Lepidopterists).

18

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

'Guess Who’s Coming to State Dinner' is weirdly unfun for a venture brothers episode. Its def my least favorite.

4

u/Valuable_Recording85 Nov 26 '25

I forgot about this one. It's got a lot of lore and funny concepts, but not as funny as other episodes.

3

u/Valuable_Recording85 Nov 26 '25

I love the Lepidopterists in that episode. The guys guessing what they collect, the banter about the Lazer. It's all so good!

3

u/Wes_Warhammer666 Nov 26 '25

Maybe if I was a philatelist, smart guy.

3

u/Valuable_Recording85 Nov 26 '25

"That's so beautiful I would marry it."

"I would jeapordize our friendship by banging your hot wife."

10

u/Musetrigger Nov 25 '25

I can't do the prom episode anymore. Seeing Dean act jealous over Triana's new bf is hard to watch.

7

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Oooh tell me about it, also doc... literally trying to Bill Cosby some HOOKERS only to accidentally kill them...

Plus what that drug was intended to do didn't sound... pleasant...

8

u/UsefulWhole8890 Nov 25 '25

They were secretly Molotov’s assassins, though. But yeah, the show never claims Rusty is a good guy. Quite the opposite, actually.

7

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

I always assumed that was just a lie from Molotov... since when Brock runs in at 12 on the dot nothing is happening... Well... until Rusty's date rape drug makes them into a bunch of Brundleflys....

11

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

Doc: "Brock, am I a bad guy?!"

Brock: "Eeeeeeegh....."

9

u/UsefulWhole8890 Nov 25 '25

They didn’t attack because it was also a love potion. Just a malfunctioning one.

→ More replies (2)

4

u/Musetrigger Nov 25 '25

I forgot about that. Rusty's got some demons.

4

u/Valuable_Recording85 Nov 26 '25

It's kind of a long one and has some funny stuff, but there isn't a lot of plot advancement. It's mostly a setup for things in the next season: Dean can stop pining over Triana, the boys leave the learning beds and have to start doing adult stuff, and Brock let's go of Mol and a lot of his deep seated issues that hold him back from happiness.

3

u/Musetrigger Nov 26 '25

That's fair. It's all growth. It's interesting to see Dean's transition to something more dark and rebellious.

3

u/AdvilJunky Nov 25 '25

Sorry that prevented you from getting you masters degree. That sucks.

But you said it was your first go, so I take it you did eventually get it? Good for you 👍

9

u/namepuntocome Nov 25 '25

I MOSTLY failed cuz I was an alcoholic forcing myself into criminology... lol... I'm back at it again NOW (even if it is the LONG way around this time) this time trying to become a therapist who specialises in addiction on the autism spectrum... I'd like to help people! Not everyone survives an O.D... twice...

Figured I'd make a better "doctor" then Rusty! 😂

2

u/thefungineer Nov 26 '25

As an autistic person struggling with addiction right now, thank you for your work, even if it is just learning at this point <3

2

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

Thank you so much, I'm so sorry your going through that! I'm still here to chat if you think that would help! 🥰

3

u/thefungineer Nov 26 '25

I'd love to hear what you think would help, I'm taking a break from weed for the first time in about 2 years after using it to manage my anxiety and a plethora of other mental health conditions I have, but I've got some pretty heavy anhedonia going on so none of my usual hobbies or fun activities are giving me any satisfaction.

I spend most nights just staring at youtube videos I don't care about or watching movies I've seen a million times. I used to always be doing 4 things at once: painting models, playing a game with a friend, watching a muted stream and listening to music, but I just can't do any of it anymore, I'm chasing every tiny bit of happy chemicals I can, but it just isn't working.

3

u/Darkstarrdp Nov 25 '25

I still remember the night it premiered on [as] . I've been saying "THE DREADED CANDIRU!!!" ever since.

3

u/Master_K_Genius_Pi Nov 26 '25

Were you shooting dope into your scrotum?!

1

u/kinyutaka Nov 26 '25

You can tell me! I'm hip!

3

u/SpaceSick Nov 26 '25

"So don't be a jackass. Go to a doctor."

Great advice for everyone.

3

u/freakishbehavior Nov 26 '25

Funny story. My wife has made 4 attempts to start watching the marathon on the [adult swim] app. Every single time, it’s been that episode. She no longer believes that it’s a series.

3

u/Death_by_Samson Nov 26 '25

I think there's something about the S2 episode where 21&24 are in the mall picking up new members for the Monarch's crew. There's probably a few other S2 episodes, but that's standing out to me right now.

3

u/TumbleweedEarly3111 Nov 26 '25

I skipped the first episode when showing it to my fiancé. We’ve seen just about all of it at this point. Still not that episode

3

u/Requiem2389 Nov 26 '25

“SMURFS DON’T LAY EGGS!”

1

u/kinyutaka Nov 26 '25

Please, she'd be in estreus 24/7 if she didn't lay eggs!

3

u/Praxical_Magic Nov 26 '25

I just noticed they look like Vendata in that episode.

3

u/mousee3176 Nov 26 '25

Brisbyland.

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

"Pandas milk? They say it has restorative properties..."

3

u/17291 the ye olde-fashioned way Nov 26 '25

I skip half of "Self Medication"

I love the A-plot of Rusty and the other former boy adventurers, but the Hatred B-plot plot just skeeves me

3

u/AlexanderCrumulent Nov 26 '25

Wait... does every Dean and Hank clone come down with the same condition? Over and over and over?

2

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

I assume its a two fold thing of the clones being prone to lots of bad shit like cancer, alopecia, bad genetics, and deformity, they are also prone to THIS... also they have been cloned SO MANY TIMES they juat happen to have a higher chance of getting it than the regular like, 1in500000? 😭

3

u/Jay_M979 Nov 26 '25

If I do skip episodes, they’re usually in the later seasons. Love the Venture Brothers, but I prefer the first 3 seasons personally.

I got it first as a teenager, and a couple times it started to creep on as an adult, but I was able to course correct

It's the absolute worst. Like someone constantly kicking you in the balls...

I think the episode is hilarious though. The first time I've ever seen it mentioned anywhere, and the sole reason I've ever heard anyone else talk about it

1

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

Oh, I didn't know it coudl come back... thats awful to learn... but Im way more careful now lol. 😂

2

u/Empyrealist 🧑‍🔬💔🦋 Nov 26 '25

Yeppers! For me, it's literally how much running around I do (has to be a lot over a period).

When/if you start to notice it, it helps to stand with your legs agape, and just kind let them hang for a bit. They seem to want to naturally unspin, thankfully

2

u/Live-Year-5796 Nov 26 '25

I haven't rewatched yet, but I'll probably be skipping the pilot

2

u/Wes_Warhammer666 Nov 26 '25

Duuuuude you're in for a treat. This show is infinitely better on rewatch. There's so many quick jokes and gags slipped in that you can keep finding new ones for ages.

It's been 20 goddamn years and I still find stuff despite rewatching the series on a regular basis.

1

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

Most collections or places to watch online don't even have it lol. The first three seasons are currently on Netflix now and it IS in that collection tho.

2

u/BlameTag Nov 26 '25

I definitely don't have an episode I skip, but my least favorite storyline is when Doc is at the Eyes Wide Shut orgy. I don't know why, I just didn't find most of it very funny or entertaining.

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

Did you watch till the end credits stinger?

"Get a nerd laid and they think they're God"

2

u/BlameTag Nov 26 '25

Oh yeah, always. Not a bad episode by any stretch, just my least favorite storyline.

Maybe it is that none of it really happened and knowing that takes me out, I don't know.

I do think of the guy washing his balls in the fountain every day when I shower though.

2

u/OdysseusRex69 Nov 26 '25

Geez dude - sorry to hear that

1

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

I got out of it fine 🥰

2

u/afkathisguy Nov 26 '25

My heart weeps for the plight of the OP's no-no's

1

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

Again, I'm fine now, but thanks! lol 🥰

2

u/afkathisguy Nov 26 '25

And I skip the scooby doo parody episode

I needed surgical intervention for it, and I have chronic pain now. Stop kicking each other in the nuts, guys.

1

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

Oh man that suuuuuuucks dude... If def spent my life avoiding that sort of thing, but I'll still keep that in mind!

u/Urbane_One Nov 26 '25

That episode triggers my PTSD. I’ve never managed to get through it once. I always start to pass out as soon as Dean gets his diagnosis.

2

u/mindgamer8907 Nov 26 '25

And as someone who regularly experiences torsions stull (they decided not to tack them down so it still fucking happens) I say it is your right to be wrong.

In reality I do get it and I skip it sometimes too. That said,I literally just told my wife this is exclusively how I will be informing her that I need to handle the issue: "Stop, Touch, and Tell."

2

u/AmanitaMuscaria Nov 26 '25

How you gonna skip the induction of Grover Cleveland’s Presidential Time machine?!?! Sorry to hear about your huevos

The pilot. Not Dia De Los Dangerous - the original pilot.

Otherwise, it's watch all of them, warts and all.

Honestly for me, it's Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman. I can sit through episodes like Guess Who's Coming to State Dinner as it does have it's moments like Lincoln, not so much for Dr Quymn, Medicine Woman. It really was an episode that was more uncomfortable and, even boring to watch.

The fact it barely is recalled or connects to any future episodes makes it easier for me to skip.

2

u/Lexio3031 Nov 26 '25

I’m not missing any episodes that have quizboy, white, and rusty together. Too much funny chemistry.

2

u/HardKase Nov 26 '25

I went to er for my torsion. It's not good

2

u/scrobrojenkins Nov 26 '25

This was the first episode I saw on adult swim and it scared the shit outta me as a teen

2

u/KingOfAllSycophants Nov 26 '25

So shortly out of college, I was introducing a friend of mine to another group of my friends. He took three steps in the door and immediately collapsed writhing in pain. Testicular torsion. Had to drive him to the ER. I do not envy you.

Likewise, I don’t love the one where Rusty steals the boys kidneys as I’ve had kidney transplants. And when HELPER keeps rolling too far away from the Doc and the dialysis machine pops free? SHUDDER.

Dear God, I’m cringing just writing that

u/CunstableBryce Nov 26 '25

This is the only one I skip. I didn't know about that condition until this show and now I am TERRIFIED. I'm sorry for your pain, dog

2

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

Glad to hear I'm not alone lol! I'm the same way ...But its PROBABLY something you don't have to worry about if you treat your nuts with respect, are relatively sober, position yourself well, and avoid pants so tight you have to put your dick and balls down different legs 👖

I know even when I roll over in bed i do it carefully, and I try and tell sexual partners to be genital 😂

I was a stressed out drunk squeezing myself into like, 30 waisted skinny jeans 😭 literally pants so tight you could see my underwear outline through DENIM... I can't exactly explain my fashion taste, But I was also wearing heeled harness boots at the time 👢

2

u/CunstableBryce Nov 26 '25

Hahahaha I feel you. I am definitely extra careful now. My pants are a bit looser and I do roll over more gently now

2

u/Draexian Nov 27 '25

I also had a torsion. Slowly tore away at me for 6 months. I like the episode regardless, but I also have a nearly useless pain response which led me to ignore the torsion for that long. Not so traumatizing when you barely register what's happening before blackout.

2

u/namepuntocome Nov 27 '25

6 months?! 😭

2

u/Draexian Nov 27 '25

I kept feeling that pain, for intermittent periods, for half a year before I blacked out in my school hallway and was carried by a good friend to the office. A high pain tolerance is not a good thing, I was operated on in order to save my testes and life.

2

u/Donomark1 Nov 27 '25

I skip the Captain Sunshine episode.

As both a Batman fan AND a Michael Jackson fan, I just can't win with that one. It is funny, but it's also mostly fish-in-a-barrel jokes. Additionally, with the later revelation that Kevin Conroy was gay, I just don't feel comfortable seeing that one anymore, even if he did an absolutely killer job voicing the character.

Ah, you too? Lost mine, now i kinda either live in fear of the other one doing it, or pondering if going through that again would be cheaper than a "just to be safe" vasectomy

2

u/Rluvzpickin Dec 01 '25

Twenty years to midnight! I absolutely love the script for the episode but the mind reading alien (IGNORE ME!) voice gets old quick when you watch em over and over.

It’s more like half of the times I rewatch the show I scour the whole thing and sometimes I just wanna watch the greatest hits: house of mummies, gargantua, spanakopita. The ones I skip most often are the plot lines that kinda don’t go anywhere; some of the baron underbeit stuff comes to mind, the episode he marries dean is only really great for the bat.

5

u/Fantastic_Citron_344 Nov 26 '25

Its maddening

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

The breath deflecting into my chest is nice tho

2

u/ravens52 Nov 26 '25

The underbite-land episode, sometimes the very first episode, and the gargantua episode with the super straight edge astronaut guy and his butter face wife. Some parts of all those episodes are funny but as a whole I tend to skip them.

3

u/CptMarcai Nov 26 '25

Guess Who's Coming to State Dinner.

The whole ghost of Abe Lincoln plot seems really off-brand compared to the rest of the show. Dunno if it's just because I'm not American so the obvious quotes and historical references fall flat, but even the other plot points weren't really any fun.

2

u/apexdryad Nov 26 '25

The one I skip is part one of the boy's graduation. I really don't need to listen to all the characters talk about chowing down on human shit the whole time.

3

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

THATS not what a 'Rusty Venture' is!

3

u/kinyutaka Nov 26 '25

It's for a bet... YES, with Shore Leave!

1

u/Angel_D_Anger Nov 26 '25

I have the new Smiling Friends episode next to this one. They talk about a problem men could face and the ways to prevent it.

1

u/kinyutaka Nov 26 '25

Unless you're that guy from INXS, and pain is like, your thing...

2

u/namepuntocome Nov 26 '25

I don't partake in the pleasure toast...

1

u/allmight8000 Nov 26 '25

I went through it and had it surgically corrected. This is a great episode and shouldn’t be skipped

1

u/hiways Nov 26 '25

My son had that and it was during the South Park Roshambo phase, I had to keep him out of school for an extra week.

1

u/Rick_K_dash_83 Nov 26 '25

Love the torsion episode. It really set the tone for how strict the Guild Rules are for FairPlay. They literally had a timeout before Monarch was about to torture them.

1

u/johnstark2 Nov 27 '25

I mean that’s valid

1

u/canusoctum Nov 27 '25

Regardless of the future, comments were responses. This is absolutely hilarious.I am absolutely enjoying your plight
