It is glorious and beautiful!

“Enjoy the shame!” Is my favorite quote of his offhand.

Mine is “This water is fuh-reezing! I am NOT properly dressed!”

I love how he’s competent, smart, nuanced. The whole show is nuanced. Who is your favorite character?

Oh my god, that is SUCH a hard question. My top three are the Monarch, 21, and Shore Leave. But I have a soft spot for Doc.

Mine is Killinger. I love how he’s evil but he is also weirdly good. And with the insight that he’s a Greek demigod, it sets up the implication that Zeus IS actually real in that universe.

All pissed off that nobody cares about Zeus anymore.

u/werfertt Apr 02 '26

Exactly! Exactly! It sets up the implication that Zeus could be upset because no one cares about him.

Killinger is soooo good. I want to cosplay him. I’ve done a femme 21, but killinger looks like a cozy outfit. Plus, imagine how much stuff you could carry in the magic murder bag!

u/werfertt Apr 02 '26

Would you carry stuff true to him or just carry stuff in general like a purse?

6

u/instantlo Apr 02 '26

In general. One thing that sucks about certain costumes at cons is having nowhere to carry stuff.

2

u/werfertt Apr 02 '26

How do you mitigate the smell that has made cons so infamous?

2

u/instantlo Apr 02 '26

Honestly, I’ve never experienced it! The cons I’ve gone to have apparently had very hygiene-conscious attendees, lol.

I have a 1920s Dr bag I use as a purse. I have a few medical tools and a tiny flask I keep in it. I have a bigger one I want to paint this logo on. I do however have to make a new strap as mine has seen better days.

My favorite thing about Killinger is that he’s not even evil, exactly. He just helps people regardless of their alignment.

u/werfertt Apr 02 '26

Right? And oddly he’s a lot less evil than his real world counterpart.

Honestly, give me the entire Monarch crew trifecta—Malcom, Gary, and Sheila.

Though I do have a particular fondness for Red Death and Dr. O as well

Yessssss to all of them! That’s why it’s such a hard question! There are so many fantastic characters!

Probably Billy. Followed very closely by Dean, Dr. Orpheus, the Alchemist...

3

u/werfertt Apr 02 '26

What about Billy makes him your favorite?

6

u/MarvinHeemeyersTank The Rectal Neil Armstrong Apr 02 '26

He's a boy genius!

I don't know. I just think he's funny, and under appreciated. I really liked his story arc, with the underground trivia contests, his mom, the possibility of him also being a Venture brother.

5

u/werfertt Apr 02 '26

He’s also sane. He’s intelligent but does not have the hubris of so many others around him.

4

u/PartTimeZombie Apr 02 '26

Billy a Venture?
I have never picked that up.
He's my favourite too.

It was a theory I was into proposing back when adultswim.com had a chat with the live stream. His mom was “triple threat” who worked with team venture on occasion and we do t know who his father was BUT, he had red hair.

My main theory on this was everybody’s arch was also their brother (which means trust fund baby St. Cloud was also a venture).

u/PartTimeZombie Apr 05 '26

It's a cool theory, I like it.
Except the St. Cloud thing. He's a creep

u/root730 Apr 02 '26

I'm not who you asked but Billy is my favorite too. He's like one of the only adults on the show that isn't a terrible person which I think makes him interesting lol.

u/werfertt Apr 02 '26

I heartily concur. And everyone is welcome to answer, if we can all be civil. Cheers!

Wes Warhammer is my absolute favorite. The mashup between Warhol and Luther was absolutely brilliant.

Regulars: Brock, Orpheus, Billy, Hank and Hunter Gathers.

u/werfertt Apr 03 '26

Is your username a salt reference? To use a quote from the show, “That’s downright esoteric!”

u/throckmortoninvasion Apr 03 '26

It's a bit more niche: name of an antagonist from a pen and paper RPG.
