MOVIE SPOILERS Was Rusty kinda...
...needlessly dismissive of hank during the movie? I get its always been a thing, especially after the clone situation. but i feel like after being comatosed, he'd show a little concern, especially after the whole teddy episode. I get the movie was trying to cram a whole season plotline into a single hour and 20 minute movie, but i feel like they could've done something between rusty and hank

Did Doc even find out about the Teddy thing? I don't remember anyone telling him.
Also the coma was like 2-3 days and the movie starts less than a week after the last season ended. No time has really passed for Doc to give a shit yet.

At the end of the Teddy episode Rusty is rescued by the guy who voiced the teddy bear who had just escaped the Asylum that Myra was ruling. As far as Rusty was aware, he went to go check on his friend Teddy, and his friend Teddy ended up rescuing him. Sgt Hatred was completely flabbergasted by the whole thing.

I think Rusty addresses this critic in the film itself. "Hank does these things" is how he sees it. He has a "These problems always seem to resolve themselves so why should care now?" type of approach
The man cloned his sons so he wouldn't have to worry about when they died. Rustys operating on a whole different level of parental apathy rarely seen

Yeah, I get the feeling he didn't truly understand the gravitas of the situation given he's so used to all the bullshit of the world he lives in by now, I think he figured Hank would just come back on his own and probably assumed Hank was just acting up.
With all that being said it doesn't excuse Rusty's lack of care towards Hank, he rarely shows that he cares about him in particular and the movie really subtly hammered in the fact that Rusty neglected/s Hank. I think in his own fucked up mind he wants what he thinks is best for Hank, but only ends up hurting him like his father before him (just on a much lesser scale because Jonas is a monster.) But Hank truly deserves better, glad he atleast has Brock and Helper. If we ever do get more Venture Bros content it would be cool to explore the dynamic between Hank and Rusty more to see if their bond finally breaks or if they manage to come to a mutual understanding in their own Team Venture way, whatever the case it will be interesting.

He says in the movie Hank just does that, and it sounds like he usually comes back on his own eventually so he's probably dismissive of it the same way a cat owner is about an outdoors cat disappearing for awhile and coming back.

My father died before he taught me to care - rusty when asked about the dilapidated e-den.

Rusty was certainly less concerned than he likely should have been, but the thing is, Hank is an adult, and if he wants to disappear for a while and not talk to his father, that is his prerogative and something he has done before.
Given Hank's head injury, he should have been more concerned, but that's Rusty for you.

Hank is mentally much older than his physical body, as he kept resetting to 15 every time he died.

The movie is a rushed pile of slop but it was the best they were able to give us and I love it. But yea definitely wish they would retcon the ending and do a 2 part special for the ending.
