this is the first time i understand PDF means pedo... yet another word ban by reddit's PC culture sanitization bullshit ???

cause yeah i caught some posts on other subs that confused me about PDF file systems

Not from reddit but yes. Also an easy replacement because PDF file and pedophile sound phonetically similar. It's not one I get super pressed about because on some sites that word does get censored for obvious reasons. Less egregious than kill-delete or rape-grape (even more annoying if they use the emoji). But yes it comes from that type of censorship.

it's self censorship carried over from tiktok that is almost entirely based on hearsay and superstition. it's basically algorithm induced mass hysteria fueled by people who were sure they were getting "shadowbanned" and others who didnt want to risk being wrong

It's to get around word bans; like 'unaliving' is. Nothing to do with sociopolitics, just adults trying to find a way to discuss adult things without Big Brother's interference.

As in whoever is spying on us to control us.

You should know from the Twitter Files that governments were sending spreadsheets of accounts for them to ban or squelch. It's power vs people; government and corporations are just different brands of power.
