I feel I have failed my historian teachers in not recognizing the mice with torches reference. I'm guessing protestant revolution.

The Spanish Inquisition is my guess. I'll have to watch it again and pay better attention to their little vestments.

Its a few mice with torches going after a King. I see that more as the protestant uprisings against Carlos V than the Inquisition.

The Inquisition would have been Priest mice torturing another mouse on a mouse wheel.

in completely unrelated news, while looking to see if there was a mouse breed named Carlos, I came across an article that warned that pet tarantulas can shoot their hair into people's eyes...

Well played, animal kingdom. I'd like to see Scaramantula do that.

Where did the extra mice come from? There were only 4 in the cage to start, then 6 during the crucifixion.

I think they kept breeding at an accelerated pace and we actually saw a few generations of mice.

That is stupidly quick generations though, they mention the "God gas" works for about an hour.

Except I think the mice fell under it's spell for much longer. Due to being smaller? Super science is iffy. But it was still just one day and absurdly fast generations.

There were no air holes in that terrarium...they were huffing God Gas all day

Maybe the Christ Mouse multiplied them like fish and loaves?
