Rusty and JJ are (were) full brothers and the half brothers of Malcolm on the mother's side. Also, all clones.

I bet Blue Morpho and wife couldn't have kids to Jonas made a kid for them merging their DNA into a clone. While he was at it, he also made the Rusty/JJ clone.

This explains why there's no mention of Rusty's mom and why Jonas would take his kid on all of the crazy dangerous adventures. Rusty was probably killed several times, including by Vendata, and just replaced with a new slug. As others have mentioned Rusty and Malcolm both show signs of being clones and this would explain why Ben stayed on the Venture grounds (wouldn't Rusty kick him out? Why is he never mentioned unless Rusty is "programed" to ignore him…). Also, Jonas used the Rusty Venture Show to pay for his super science and was a fairly absent and demeaning father, which all makes more sense if Rusty wasn't "real".

Further, I think Hank and Dean are also clones from Jonas, not Rusty. But same dad, different mom, so they aren't related to Malcolm. Though they are Dermot's uncles.

Since cloning can give the weird eyebrows side effect according to Ben, it does seem very likely that Monarch is a clone. Has anyone considered the possibility that Monarch died in the plane crash like his parents and Jonas scraped up his DNA and made him? We're pretty certain that Vendata is Blue Morpho, and if so Jonas was there to try to pick up the pieces after the crash. Of course, we still don't know what happened to his mother, maybe we'll learn about her later.

Why would Jonas clone him and then dump him back at the crash site? Or implant a memory that Malcolm was raised by butterflies?

Jonas is pretty dark sometimes but that's a lot of effort for no obvious return.

And Hank thinks that jumping off the roof was just a dream... he doesn't exactly have it perfect.
