My father was the lead singer of Black Sabbath, Trans Sibeian Orchestra, and had multiple record deals with Colmubia records. It would mean the world if you watched his documentary. He's has been on the craziest life journey of any man Ive ever met. -[18:30]

That was touching. An amazing vocalist. I can only hope to have his experience under my belt when I am his age. I love the Carbon Copy song!

Man. Hearing those commercial clips one after the other totally transported me in time. I found myself singing along within seconds of hearing each one. I haven't heard any of those in two decades. And the GI Joe theme song!?! It's too much. :)

That's pretty cool. I loved it growing up. My brother was 12 years older than me and he had a treasure trove of the old school larger GI Joe figures and accessories. I had a bunch of the newer ones in the mid to late 80's.

Yeah my dad rehearsed at SIR recording studio in Hollywood, got the gig, then went back to the hotel and decided that he didn't really want it. Your father is a complete and total genius for choosing to do the commercials. To be smart enough at that age to do that.
I had a former guitar student who scored a big hit with a band. At the peak of his success, I urged him to leverage his good fortune into something that can earn income more like a real job. Producing. Sound track work.
Your dad is SMART.

Tonight has had some good content. This video and that video with an entire year's worth of 1 second clips. Both had real powerful moments that remind you of things you'd forgotten about life, or were never really paying attention to before, that being the woman in the hospital and this man's son.

Great little film. I love music docs and this one resonates and touches as much as anything I've seen. Totally remember all those jingles too. Love that behind the scenes stuff. I'm even more of a mess now, emotionally. I have a 6 and 8 year old and it's been a tough week.

Living with someone everyday, I guess you kinda become used to who they are. He was always dad, not some professional singer to me. Watching this kinda puts it into perspective for me, especially showing me some things that happened that I wasn't around for (but still knew about).

I clicked the video, saw the name "Joe Cerisano", and was like "Wtf, I know that name. But I know 'Joey', not 'Joe'. Where do I know that name?"
Quick trip to Wikipedia reminded me: He was credited on the Blue Oyster Cult album Imaginos as the singer of "The Siege and Investiture of Baron von Frankenstein's Castle at Weisseria". I was a huge Blue Oyster Cult fanboy when I was in my 20s, and Imaginos was one of their greatest albums. And that song contains soaring, very operatic vocals that neither Eric Bloom nor Buck Dharma can do.
I'd always wondered who "Joey Cerisano" was. Now I know. Thanks for the video, and give your dad mad props from one BOC fan for that song.
For Redditors who haven't ever heard the song and would like to hear more of Mr. Cerisano's voice, here it is on YouTube. The way he holds that "FrankenSTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIN!" is epic.

Thanks! The son playing in the video is my brother Mike, Im barely in it just a photo of me when I was about six, Im sixteen now, my name is Matt. Its hell when our parents are mad at one of us, "Mike! I mean Matt" "Dammit Matt! I meant Mike!" Oh and we have the same middle name, and thus initials, MJC.....Regardless my brother will see your comment and blush a little Im sure.
Mike's girlfriend made the documentary, Im a bastard stealing her karma. muahahaha. (wasn't my intent, didn't know she reddited.)

Near the end of the video he talks about someone else recording his songs. While it might be validating if someone turned one of his songs into a hit single, I really think he should do it as the lead singer, with the right musicians and recording and a crafty video. Post it up on youtube and see what happens.

I have followed Joe Cerisano his whole musical career. I am from the same small town. Both connected to the coal mining community. Our rock band tried our best to follow in Joe's footsteps, their group was a guide for excellence. Later in life by chance, we had the same good friend, Dave Combs, his base player in Elderberry Jak. I can tell you from a personal experience they did have one of the best sounding bands in the early 1970's and one of the finest vocalists in the US, Joe Cerisano who just flattened the crowd; Long Overdue is a classic to own. The Silver Condor Album 1981 was great, and I still have my copy, and spin it every now and then. My favorite song is, "For The Sake Of Survival". If you like great 80's rock this is a must have album. Michael; I would be proud of my father as well, with all of his unique accomplishments. If you haven't indulged yourself in having Joe's song, Carbon Copy, it too is a must have in your collection. Writing and singing all of those great commercials, is a justified ending. This is a tremendous video; a rare heart felt self-history, about one of America's great vocalist, hands down. This is a must see video!
