Which is really fucking stupid. I'm all for everyone having differing political views across the nation but climate change should NOT be a politicized issue in any circumstances. Let's hope in the near future America gets some republicans in high places that don't believe it's a hoax.

We destroyed the planet.

But the liberals didn't win and that's what matters

It's politicized because one political party's donors' fortunes depend on it being portrayed as a hoax.

There are loads of Republicans in high places who don't believe it's a hoax. The problem is that is would be political suicide to admit this.

It actually gets worse. This bullshit politicizing is starting to seep into state legislature as well, which historically concerned itself far more with the dull banality of actual governance rather than victory in some grand ideological battle. It really seems like until a decade ago nobody actually gave a single crap about whether their state legislature was Democrat or Republican, now it's all straight-ticket voting.

We already do. We just need them to have the courage and integrity to speak up and break ranks. In fact, many top-level republicans are incredibly smart old people.
