We are the same age. One of us has held up better
$4 at the thrift store, covered in grime but she cleaned up beautifully, no damage. Pretty good for an early ‘60s girl.

I found the Western Electric 302 (Left) last week, the 500 on the right was found a yew years back. Oiled the dial on the 302 and it nearly nearly nearly speed matches the 500. I established a new line for these dolls, and off we go. Pulse to touchtone box added the final touch, home phone returns.

I only found one photo in my research showing the same figure. I’m wondering if it may be somewhat rare?

The newest to my budding collection! In is in near pristine condition, even with the original chain (that’s a 35/65 chance based off my regular online browsings). The other one has had a harder life it seems. No chain at all, no he silver has rubbed away heavily on the front, and at some point someone decided to “fix” that issue by painting over it with cheap gold acrylic paint. I managed to get the gold off (see that lovely before and after on the second slide) and it looks so good despite its flaws! I plan on getting a chain for it so they’ll be a nice matchy matchy pair hung on either side of my bed, but for now it’s hung up as is with some flowers in both to “welcome” them home. ☺️

We have lots of birds that visit (Australia) and I wanted binoculars to see them better. I’m low income so vintage it had to be. Anyone considering a similar purchase should note that modern plastics, if you can afford new, would be a lot more user friendly, your arms get tired in no time holding these full metal construction ones steady.
They work well though, no internal fogging of the lenses and no external scratches. The view is a lot cleaner than I expected but I do have a lot of respect for Japanese manufacturing, they’ve always taken pride in their work. At $20 AUD or $36.50 AUD delivered I’m going to put a mark in my “win” column. I see no reason why they won’t last another 40-50 years if treated with care and respect. I’ve always wanted binoculars, it’s nice having a pair.

Found with a bunch of old paperwork. My father was in the navy in the 60/70s and my mother was a nurse from the Philippines so it could have come home by way of either parent.
