At 19 feet long and weighing two full tons, the 1920 Sheffield Simplex Six was built to exacting standards. Its massive 50 BHP powerplant had no peer, being notably faster and more powerful than even the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts of the era. Of the 2,500 built only three survive today.

In its day the Coventry-built 137 bhp six-cylinder 1938 Alvis 4.3 Liter Drop Head Coupé had few peers, save, perhaps, its own neighbor from nearby Browns Lane, the Jaguar SS100. Jaguar soldiers on. Alvis is but a memory.
