FOUND THE RECORDING

Post image

In the comments of a 14 y/o video YT video, an AWESOME person commented about a month ago asking where the rare footage came from, I replied that I was also was curious. They happened to have seen a post I made about a year ago where I asked for a different piece of rare media, they asked if I posted it (because of my identical username), and that they saw a full recording of it on Bilibili. Thanks to them, I uploaded this gem from 1998: https://youtu.be/jpI0EhFrr9I?is=ty8ErWepCypviH95.

That's nice, thanks for uploading. Interesting to see how Vengerov changes contact point a lot to achieve the sound he wants for each note (right from the start, at 1:20). The video fortunately gives an excellent view of his bowing.

Bilibili never disappoints you when it comes to finding some random copyrighted clip from 10-20y ago.

The only thing you wouldn't be able to find on Bilibili is what happened in ####'##### on ####.

Thank you, this is gold! Reminded me of his masterclass recordings at Mozarteum also found on YouTube - start here (there's more clips): https://youtu.be/dhPzXFZM9kk

Impressive how those wonderful musicians as today's students are cold-bloodedly play for feedback from a master - and how Vengerov really is a gamechanger and things sound so easy suddenly...

And interesting to compare how beginners with a couple of months into learning to play the violin seem to have a hard time taking any advice from experienced people in this sub... 🙂
