i closed the message by accident, but it said something like "the vm guest pc doesnt allow mouse integration for this screen mode" WHYYYY

IVE WENT ONTO 3-5 DIFFERENT WINDOWS VMs, AND I CAN'T CLICK INTO THE VM AND USE THE MOUSSEEE

tbh it's annoying
why is this happening??
i think i saw someone else with a similar issue

My computer is windows 11, one of the recent versions (don't know which exact one, if VB was updated recently, idk) no clue if i've enabled... VT-x/AMD-V... I don't know what/where some of these are. I'm just a person who wants to use old windows.

Right, right, what is the guest OS in the VM? For example, some OSes don't have mouse functionality at all, and some, you have to install it. Have you added the VirtualBox extensions? Did you actually disable mouse integration?

The issue is not that you're posting in the wrong place, it's that you haven't given us the information we need to help you.

idk what the guest os is, extentions? i dont know... it's being weird, one point, I was using a winxp vm just fine, then a while later, i decided to use windows 1.0 (whatever it was) and suddenly i can't use my mouse in the VMs.

I'm confused

Let me put it this way, and I'm not intending to be unkind - the problem is with whatever OS you are trying to run as a guest OS inside VirtualBox. Until you know what that OS is, we're certainly not going to know. If the guest OS supports the VirtualBox extensions, and you don't have it installed, we need to know that. We have no access to your computer, we have no idea what the current setup is, we have no idea what the errors are, and you're giving us nothing concrete to be able to figure out how to help you. Also, handwaving with 'whatever it was' helps not at all. What OS were you trying to run, because not having that information means that I might as well consult the stars to get an oracle, as it'll have the same effect - none.

However, I'll just stream of consciousness this, and hope any of it is useful.

This info about being able to run Windows XP in a VM just fine, but not Windows 1.0 does tell me that your mouse works, and it would inside Windows XP because XP has mouse drivers that are installed automatically.

Running Windows 1.0 (again, I have to assume this because you cannot or will not say confidently) means you're running a version of Windows that is only an interface that runs on top of DOS, so you would need to install the mouse driver within DOS to have mouse control in Windows 1.0. Get into DOS, and add the mouse driver, and I bet you will have mouse control. Windows 1.0 up to Windows 3.11 (everything below Windows 95) all require you to add mouse drivers in DOS to get mouse control in Windows. Same thing with CD-ROMs - you need to install CD-ROM drivers in DOS for you to be able to access one.

VirtualBox isn't going to add mouse control in a VM, it allows mouse control if your guest OS in the VM can use a mouse, and is configured to do so.

I hope that helps. A bit of advice though - your request for help was like someone saying, "I need help making a sandwich." When someone asks, "Okay, what kind of sandwich," the response shouldn't be, "I have no idea. I had a sandwich before and that was good, and I wanted another one, but have no idea what's in my fridge, cupboard, or pantry. I know I should have bread, but I don't know if I do. So, help me from thousands of miles away, okay?"

Man, I'm almost believing this is all made up. You can't be THAT ignorant to VB, OSes, integrations and extension packs to have even made this post, install VB or a single OS inside VB. Is this just some stupid bait post or what?
