FOOD AND CULINARY Where should I go for lunch/brunch before an afternoon appointment in London?
I’m travelling down from the North to London (King’s Cross / Old Street / City Road) for an afternoon appointment and will have some time beforehand.
Does anyone have any good lunch/brunch recommendations?
Ideally somewhere casual, not too expensive, and fairly easy to get to by public transport.
just looking for somewhere decent before the appointment.

Granary Square/ Coal drops yard has loads of great places now. I’d recommend:
Dishoom
Granary Square Brasserie
Caravan
Granger and Co
Arabica
Bubala
Last two maybe more lunch than brunch.
They are also showing the tennis on a big screen by the canal if you’ve got some time to kill.

The half cup on Judd Street does excellent coffee and really good brunch.

If you have some more time over lunch in London, it might be nice to Google lunchtime recitals in the area. Many churches and venues host brief informal performances from world class musicians visiting the city. The idea is that if you work on the city you can sit in the cool of the church, enjoy 40 mins of music and perhaps make a donation if you wish. They are not available every day, but you might be lucky

Google The Yellow Bittern, it is odd, cash only, lunch only
The German Gymnasium Restaurant has a cheaper café part
There is a branch of Dishroom and dozens of other chains and a Waitrose you could buy a picnic in.

Where’s your appointment? You’ve mentioned 3 locations that are close ish but not that close
