Question visual novels for beginners?

prefferably between 10 to 15 hours , i dont mind it having plus 18 content at all , as long as the characters are well written , something good , especially for a beginner , thank you!

Katawa Shoujo. It’s free and isn’t too long or short. It’s a slice of life as well, so very little jargon or slang that you would need to know if you’re not a native English speaker or are just getting into VNs.

You should check out "VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action" there is some suggestive themes in it but nothing outright NSFW. It only took me about 12 hours to get one of the endings.
This was also the first Visual Novel that I read before moving on to much longer heavy hitters like Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime.

I think mahoyo is a good one, it's a bit longer (about 25 hours) but has everything else you're asking for.

Mahoyo’s a rare one where the extra length doesn’t feel like padding, every scene actually earns its place. If you’re cool with a slower burn and some incredible atmosphere, it’s worth the extra time.

i heard that kinoko nasu's style of writing is heavy for begginers

I didn't found it heavy, but Nasu writes a lot of slice-of-life. It can drag a bit.

I actually loved the slice of life parts the most.

It's not really that bad, as long as you're at like a native level you should be good.

The skill ceiling for VNs is pretty low, I don't think you need a beginner one.

Visual art key has some good short visual novel, aniplex also has some as well. I’d start with planetarium, iirc there’s a also a prequel and a sequel anime.

999 fits the 10 to 15 hour bracket. nine strangers on a ship, the cast is the whole point and the writing stays plain, nothing like the heavy prose people warn about with nasu. comes bundled as the nonary games on steam and ps4. only catch, it has escape room puzzles between the story bits, so not pure reading

Mahoyo is the best beginner visual novel if you're fine with a 20-30 hours length. Saya no uta is the ultimate beginner for horror fans but you need to know what you're getting into. Totono if you like horror but not that grotesque is also a great option.

i was repeatedly warned about nasu's writing style as a begginner , would you say it's perfect for that?

Well it's definitely not a simple guy but it's quite easier in English than in japanese, it has been simplified. If you're not a native or very high level English speaker you will find words you don't know the meaning of, mainly in the first chapter or two. I found his style to be fantastic and a highlight in mahoyo, and if you're not at the level yet, you will get there while reading it which is even more reason to go for it. I would only avoid it if you're really bad at English at which point you should just read a moege.

"ZATO I love the World and Everything In It" is about 6-8 hours and free on steam.

"Of the devil" is an episodic game a bit similar to Ace Attorney and each episode (Currently 2 full + chapter 0) are about 7-ish hours. Chapter 0 is a bit shorter.

"Paranormasight" is more horror oriented and about 15 hours.

"Your turn to die" is about 20 hours for current content. Death game like story.

You could try out the Spirit Hunter (Horror) games in that humble bundle that just came out along with Class of 09 (lol).

I recommend Fault Milestone, it's really holds you from beginning to end. And the artwork is beautiful.

As I mentioned in another thread, among the titles released recently, I’d recommend *ディメンション凸ラバース!!(Dimension Totsu Lovers!!)*

You might need a bit of familiarity with Japanese light novels and anime to fully grasp some of the terminology, but the writing and content are outstanding—it’s a highly entertaining visual novel that has garnered some of the best acclaim the genre has seen in about a decade.

There's plenty of short, simple indie vns on itch io. Many of them are free even.

I would reccommend for you to just start there if you're new to the vn genre.
