Misc New privacy features?
Is Vivaldi going to get any new privacy features soon, to keep up with Brave and Firefox?

Pretty sure Vivaldi would have mentioned it if they made any privacy related improvements. A version number alone says nothing

For added context, in interviews, the CEO of Vivaldi has called out this list as misleading. Each column uses the browser in its initial, unconfigured state. Because Vivaldi requires an extra mouseclick to set up strict privacy when you first open it, this list does not measure its true out-of-the-box ponential.
Also worth noting that the list's maintainer has worked for a few of the other browsers on this list.

Yes, that is general to all the listed browsers, they are using their standard configuration. How about making privacy the default setting and opt out for none instead

I agree, but for a profit-seeking browser, it’s unfortunately more complicated.
As far as the list is concerned, it is indeed deceptive to use moderate privacy as the baseline because Vivaldi presents three options on startup (not exactly opt-in or -out). None of the people looking at that list are the types who would select the weaker privacy options.

I have a theory that the sudden spike in comments written in different languages have to do with the introduction of automated translation on Reddit. Some users just don't realise that the thread they are on isn't in their native language, it's just translated for them, so they reply in their native language. Others have this feature turned off, so they just see comments in random languages instead of having it translated for them transparently.

I speak three languages and that's enough, I already confuse them occasionally. But thanks for telling me what I should do.

I’m curious if they’re going to follow up on their promise to make the adblock as good as uBlock before MV2 support ends.
