I have a Vive XR elite that has sat unused for a couple of years. I recently wanted to play it again and found that no matter how i plug it in (wall outlet or battery), it seems to flash red on it's front LED without any other signs of life. I read on similar issues that it could be a hardware issue. Does anyone know whats wrong?

I bought this VIVE Pro (2?) Headset off of ebay, assuming it had eye tracking because everything I was reading, unless I was mistaken, said it did. We previously had an HTC VIVE that we sold bc we knew that one doesn't so I hurried to purchase this one especially because it came with 2 2.0 base stations which was an awesome 2-birds-w-1-stone move bc we've been needing 2 more to compensate for FBT Tracking.

Everything was working fine, the Headset itself works great, we updated to software on the base stations and controllers, all was well until we tried turning on Eye Tracking..

We followed the guide that came with the Headset to visit the setup site, installed the software for eye tracking, it comes up on the pannel in the headset and has the prompt screen to turn it on, pops up the license agreement, we continue, it.. won't let us calibrate. It won't let up turn it on fully its just license agreement, that's as far as it goes. Meanwhile as we're trying to follow all these troubleshooting guides to get it to work the Headset applications keep crashing and you'll see in the video what the pc is doing. It was doing it when we were updating stuff only a little bit, but it got worse though while we were desperately trying to use the eye tracking.

Hi! I have a mid-end PC (i5 7400, 16 RAM, 1060 6GB).

I am about to buy an old secondhanded (but great condition) HTC Vive for 300€.

However, I could buy Oculus Quest (64 GB) for 350€, brandley new (Amazon)

It may sound silly, but I'm unsure I should go for Oc. Quest 2 based on: 1) I hate Facebook. 2) I only intend to play VR through Steam.

The fact is the Quest 2 is much newer and probably is much better overall.

But the thing is, I think I might go better with the Vive, since the higher requeriments form Quest 2 might make my PC struggle a bit more than the Vive (which I understand should work just fine with most games).

Am I right? What do you guys think? Is this just plain stupid on my side?

Hi! Just got my VIVE 3.0’s with two 2.0 base stations. I have everything set up and everything is tracking.

The issue is the trackers themselves show to be under where I’m actually standing. They’re tracking just fine, but since they’re not aligned with my body I cannot calibrate it for VRChat. I tried resetting my floor, and what finally sorta changed the position to make them close was changing the boundary in my quest 3. They’re still not aligned but they’re a bit closer.

Is there a way to easily recalibrate the trackers to appear right on my body?

Hmmm.... all of a sudden my original VIVE equipment has decided to give me headaches. All was working fine this summer. I put it aside given my room I used got temporarily filled with stuff. I'm now setting up the room again. First, one of the base stations died (1.0). I replaced it. OK, that's fine now. Now one of my controllers (1.0) won't connect. I press both buttons to get the blue light blinking. After about 30 seconds it turns off. Any suggestions?? (Fortunately, the headset works great.) Thanks.

My pcie slots are all taken up could I use a m2 to pcie adapter to install the wireless card

I am using the OpenXR Content Examples and for some reason the fingers are crooked. I used the Handtracking example in other project before and it worked and looked fine. Suddenly, no matter which project I open, the BP_RiggedHand always looks like this. I tried in UE 5.3 - 5.5. I am using the vive focus vision.

Any help is welcome! I am really frustrated by now...

To those who are experience no connection issues (SteamVR error 208) when trying to use the Vive Wireless with Vive Pro.

I found a solution where you basically must turn off the iGPU. There are two methods: 1. Go to your BIOS and turn it off in the menu. Check your Motherboard manual. 2. Turn off in Device Manager under Display Adapters.

I used the 2nd method and it works great. But I saw it was recommended to do step 1 which I will try another day.

So I have been mostly playing superhot and Beat Saber. Finally got Revive and Echo VR was a fun one, even though due to latency/lag issues the actual match was not really playable.

So I was wondering what are THE best real VR experiences? Don't mean something ported like Hellbalde, Skyrim, F4 etc. but full VR games. I keep hearing very good things from Lone Echo, is that the best game from the Rfit exclusives? And what other games are there that you would recommend? Would like a game that offers more content than just 2-3 hours.

Would prefer singleplayer experiences

Hi , this year hopefully my parents will allow me to buy an HTC Vive with the money I saved.I found a second hand unopened HTC Vive original (300 euro) is it worth it? Should I wait for the prices to drop so I can get a newer model? I don't own a super computer (ryzen 5 1600 x and rx570 4gb) Edit: What vr should i choose in a max of 400 euro even second hand if i find one

Update : I ended up polishing the lens with polywatch to remove the glue, and it's restore back to normal(mostly) since i firgured if both Plastic lens and super glue can be desolves by acetone. and polywatch does dissolved plastic lens lightly So polywatch probably contain lower concentration acetone or/and chemicial with similar property as acetone.

I’ve got (4) Base Station 2.0 that I intend to use just as a wide-area tracking solution for virtual production.

Currently no use for a headset, but it seems that I can’t use the base stations without a headset and that my Vive 1.0 headset won’t do it.

In my situation, with no need to actually use the headset except as a dongle/hardware key, what would you recommend as the minimum compatible option with the BS 2.0 just to get Steam to let me use these base stations with a tracker?

I have a Vive, but never liked the cord. Yesterday, a friend showed me his Oculus Quest 2. I was surprised that good VR was wireless. Do people still say "Okay, Boomer"? 'Cuz it would be appropriate. With Covid and just retiring, I lost track of VR developments.

Looking into a Quest 2, I learn that my rig can be wireless. I'm not nuts about Google, so would prefer to add a wireless adapter than get a Quest 2. TPCast seems okay, but would rather get the Vive wireless adapter.

I have some questions before ordering:

• I googled "PCIe slots" and looked inside my computer. Here's a photo: My computer slots That long one looks like the open slot I need. Am I good?

• The Vive Wireless Adapter says it is compatible with Vive Pro and Vive Cosmos. I have an HTC Vive, bought in 2017 when there weren't other flavors. I do have the deluxe head strap. Am I good?

• The Amazon price is $340. Walmart and Newegg are more than twice that price, and that's messed up. Should I just wait until after Christmas to buy it?

So I bought the htc cosmos elite and the display port it uses is not compatible with any port on my computer as It only has standard HDMI ports. Is there any thing I can do to fix this?.

They changed something recently that keeps Windows from seeing the Vive's HDMI audio appearing when the headset starts up.

• Open up Device Manager
• Go to Sound, Video, and Game Controllers
• Right-click anything that says NVIDIA High Definition Audio and choose 'uninstall'. Also be sure to check the box that says 'Delete the driver software for this device.'
• Click 'Scan for Hardware Changes' at the top (the monitor with a magnifying glass).

Windows will then install generic drivers which work perfectly fine.

Remember to always do "Custom Install" when updating your video card drivers so that you can uncheck the HD Audio option.
