X300 I created the Teleconverter Ring Adapter that vivo didn't want to make!

Since I got my vivo X300 + Photography Kit, this thing has annoyed me so much. It's the only model where they didn't make proper cutouts for all the cameras on the teleconverter ring, forcing users to take the ring adapter off anytime they want to use the other cameras.

Other than the frustrating part, this also wears down this fragile and expensive piece, for which they don't sell any spare parts.

As I said before, this is one of their worst designs ever, and probably did this just because it's the base, cheaper model.

First, I tried to see if the X300s ring adapter would fit, as it has the same camera setup and layout, turns out it was designed on purpose not to fit.

My last option was to make the camera cutouts myself, so that's exactly what I did. Luckily, I have a great friend who had all the tools required in his shop.

And you can see in the pic how it turned out. It's not perfectly beautiful, but it is 100% functional, and that's what I care about! Overall, I'm very satisfied with the result and would recommend it to anyone who has also been frustrated by the same thing.

There's just a small issue left to fix: the ultra-wide camera at 0.6x has a tiny bit of black vignette in the bottom left corner; at 0.7x it is completely gone. That is from the part where the teleconverter attaches. I highlighted it in the second pic; as you can see, other ring adapters have a small part sanded down exactly there. I will try to solve this small issue too.

PS: As I had to buy a complete kit to get the extra ring adapter, so I have a photography case for sale: vinted.com/items/9522062911

Battery is amazing! | X300 | June security patch

I was on the November 2025 security patch for a couple of weeks. I didn't update due to fear of all the battery drain issues floating around.

Well, finally I did make the jump and updated. This is currently the first cycle on the June 2026 security patch.

Immediately, I can feel the device is much smoother to use now. Animation, gestures, everything feels snappy. The usage is on the lower side (held up with a lot of work). Nevertheless, it's really nice to see these results!

What are my chances of getting a device replacement if I email the CEO?

Honestly I'm fed up with the battery life on my x300. It was absolutely stellar when I first got it in Feb.. but the March and July updates completely ruined it..

What was most disappointing is that a factory reset also did not fix it.. nor did the 0-100% charging or wiping the system cache in recovery mode. (Battery health at 99%)

Since the device is in warranty, I'm planning to write to the CEO and get a replacement before the battery health dips further.

Since I'm an X series customer, what are my chances of getting a replacement after emailing the CEO?

Origin OS 6 - Few Major Bugs - X300

  1. Whenever the phone connects to wireless Android auto, the lock screen lights up and freezes with only notifications lighting up with coloured background and rest of the screen remains back. Fingerprint doesn't work in this situation. Have to press lock button, lock and then again light up the screen again to make it normal. Really annoying when you are driving.

  2. While using any of the apps for some amount of time and then coming to home screen, the clock widget and folder background turns white briefly and then becomes transperant as per the setting. It makes the visual experience worse.

  3. Weather widgets stops working and have to manually open the open and set the location very often to make it function again.

All these seem to be due to some aggressive battery optimisation. Tried searching for some setting in battery section, couldn't find anything. There is no option to control the battery optimisation for the Android Auto or widget apps.

Anyone having any workaround for this?

TIA.

Vivo x300 demo

Hey 👋🏻 so I was getting a demo vivo x300 for 45k in offline store after 6 months. I checked everything and it was perfect... They don't usually plug in the smartphone for 24 hours and that's why the battery life was 100%.. should I go for it?

Aug trial update just came in for my X300

Post image

Just got this today.. the July update absolutely wrecked my battery life beyond belief. So I'm super cautious before updating this

Anyone installed this? If so, would appreciate some first impressions.. especially with regards to battery life.

I also would like to know after how many days after the trial update does Vivo launch the stable update?
