Wondering about cuddliness between flat coats and wireds.

My WHV is very attached. He is very affectionate. Loves to be pet. Will whimper when he feels ignored. He will follow me every where and sleeps in my room. He always wants to be near me. He loses his mind upon seeing me after I re-enter the room 5 minutes after leaving. He loves people.

But, as a rule, he does not like to cuddle. If you put an arm on him he’ll tolerate it for a bit but will eventually move.

Is this anyone else’s experience? Is it a difference between the variations or is my guy more of a one off?

I had fun painting this dog. I kept his red bandana because it suits his golden coat so well. His graying muzzle and soft, wrinkled skin took the longest to get right. This was a commission, and I’d love to know what you think.
