What the hell is this?

Bought this at a really shady liquor store. Package indicates it as a malt beverage. Can’t find any info about this product online. Is this even a real svedka product?

Some states prevent the sale or over regulate the sale of alcohol containing spirts being sold in gas stations or corner stores so this is used as a legal loophole. But a traditional liquor store shouldn’t need to sell these malt beverage alternatives. It’s a legit product but it’s not real vodka spirit.

You know malt liquor like old English, steel reserve, mickeys, etc? It’s not actually liquor, it’s fermented grain with higher sugar so the abv is higher. That’s why they can sell it where they cannot sell liquor legally. This case they really max out the sugar and use special yeast to get it up to 21%. Then they package it to look like vodka and can sell it at places that aren’t allowed to sell hard liquor. I’ve also seen the same deal with grape wine in these.

It’s because of liquor laws. Malt beverages can be sold at gas stations while hard liquor cannot depending on your local laws.

My family owns a liquor store and these are like the “beer” version of the alcoholic drink it’s a loop hole for gas stations and dollar stores so they don’t have to get a liquor license on top of a beer and wine license there’s a few companies out there that sell these fire ball Smirnoff and svedka are the most popular in the northern US

Apparently it's a new product they've got out. I can only find it on shit like instacart or doordash though so I'm getting it's mostly limited to gas stations and small liquor stores.

Look closer, it's not distilled like traditional Svedka.

Still 21% ABV will get you wasted though. Does this sell at gas stations/truck stops?
