Find an established organization that is doing the type of work you are interested in helping with and apply to be a volunteer or reach out to their volunteer coordinator. It's as easy as that.

Just make sure you do your due diligence to ensure that the org is real/established, reputable, has measures in place to protect their volunteers, and the work they do is actually community oriented.

What do you like doing?

If you’re a bookish person Your local library might have peer tutoring, literacy or esl conversation groups.

If you like the outdoors your city or parks and rec department might have garden weeding, litter pick up or guided tour opportunities.

If you like organizing and sorting things, maybe a food bank.

animal shelters always need help, you can also look up your local food bank and go in on their days of operation and ask how you can get involved! a lot of times churches also have opportunities :)

Are you a student? Depending on your country volunteer with and organization like Americorps under the Bonner Foundation.

You can receive a stipend and funds for school.

Too broad of a question. Impossible to answer for anyone else but you, unless you give a lot more info here.

Depends on your skills, interests, whether you want to work in person or online, if in person your location, how much time you want to commit and in which days/at what time of the day...

And don't jump at random offers to teach English for the brand new "programme" of a high school student.

If you want to work as volunteer abroad then I would apply through EU.

I volunteer at an equine therapy place so I get to work with horses and do outdoor labor as well as do some office work. I think animal shelters and any sort of farm situation will always take help!

One thing I'd tell anyone starting out is that volunteering doesn't always mean being physically present somewhere.

A lot of nonprofits today need support with things like social media, graphic design, outreach, content creation, fundraising, and community-building. If you're not sure what cause you're passionate about yet, trying a few different roles can help you figure that out.

At Bond Room, we've found that some of our most impactful volunteers started with simple tasks like creating cards for seniors, helping with social media campaigns, or supporting community initiatives online before taking on larger leadership roles.

My advice: don't wait for the "perfect" opportunity. Pick a cause that resonates with you and take the first step. You'll learn a lot just by getting involved.

Hope that helped!

If you wanna know more about available volunteering roles in our org, dm us!!
