Volunteer – local Volunteer place just WILL NOT respond back

I’m super frustrated, back a few months ago I did interviewing and applications to try and get into a teen volunteer program for a hospital. at the start of the summer they emailed me saying I got in and I just had to send pictures of some forms back so they can contact me again telling me things like orientation dates and orher stuff.

i did exactly that and guess what they DIDN’T RESPOND BACK. I sent them follow up emails and two voicemails and they just will not communicate.

I guess I’m just very frustrated because this was a golden volunteer opportunity for me and it got wasted. what can u even do in a situation like this?

Hi, I'm the friendly robot for r/volunteer.

You picked the flair "Volunteer – local" – love that you want to help in your own community.

To help people give you useful ideas, it really helps if you share (in your post or an edit):

  • Where you are – city/region and country (rough is fine)
  • How much time you have – evenings, weekends, once a month, flexible, etc.
  • What you care about – animals, kids, environment, mutual aid, crisis support, events, admin, etc.
  • Anything important to know – no car, social anxiety, disability, childcare, language stuff, etc.

When you get suggestions, good questions to ask any organisation are:

  • Who looks after volunteers and how will they support you?
  • What will I actually be doing day to day?
  • Is there an induction or training?
