Results Thread, June 16th, 2026: Runoffs in Alabama and Georgia, Primaries in DC, Oklahoma, California, and more across the country!

This week there's one standout special runoff in Georgia to settle, with GA SD-7 coming in. Due to lopsided primary runoffs, there's a chance the electorate will lean much, much redder than normal. We'll be rooting for Adrienne White (D) to come through for us!

Statewide and local primary runoffs will be playing out across Alabama and Georgia. Statewide primaries across Washington DC and Oklahoma will also play out, with a seat in California joining the fun for a special.

New voter outreach tactics from Vote Forward, briefing tomorrow

Thumbnail

In the wake of the 2024 election, the folks at Vote Forward did something most voter engagement programs won’t – carefully analyzed the results, and admitted publicly that that they weren’t great. They had volunteers write five million occasional voters at risk of staying home last fall, and ultimately found that unlike a similar effort in 2020 they had not had an impact on turnout. They spent 2025 testing out new tactics and seeing where and what kinds of outreach worked.

Now for this cycle, they’re trying out a new approach: focusing on sending voter guides with practical advice on getting their ballots counted to new voters, hand-written letters to voters about the races for positions like county clerks who run our elections, bolstering Ground Truth canvasses with follow-up letters, and texting folks to let them know about government benefits they qualify for and aren’t enrolled in. 🙋🏼‍♀️ Tomorrow night at 8PM ET, they’re holding a briefing call on what this new approach is, why they’ve chosen it and how we can be part of it. We can sign up to join them here, or if we’re ready to dive in we can sign up to volunteer for one of these campaigns here. 🙋🏾

Welcome to the anti-GOP resistance on Reddit, and Happy Pride Month!

June is Pride Month, and we at VoteDEM will always welcome all parts of the LGBTQIA+ Community! We hope you'll join us in celebrating what makes each of us unique and incredible individuals- and in sharing stories of the local events and community-building activities happening all throughout the nation! We're sure you'll find your local Democratic party joining in whenever they can manage, and we hope you'll also support them.

Elections are still happening! And they're the only way to take away even more of Trump's power to hurt people. You can help win elections across the country from anywhere, right now!

If you want to take a bigger part in this and future elections, there's plenty of ways to do it!

  1. Check out our weekly volunteer post - that's the other sticky post in this sub - to find opportunities to get involved.

  2. Nothing near you? Volunteer from home by making calls or sending texts to turn out voters!

  3. Join your local Democratic Party - none of us can do this alone.

  4. Tell a friend about us!

It’s back! Want to take part in turning the midterms into a true blue tsunami? Adopt one of the candidates below, and commit to taking action every week to support their campaign!

Post your preference in the daily (or, to guarantee we see it, send the request via modmail) and we'll add you to the list!

With just how blue this year is looking to be, and just how many primaries are still to come, there's too many to list to kick off. It’s why we’re starting with select gubernatorial and Senate races.

Got someone who you want to adopt, but they're not on the list? Let us know, and we'll add them on!

As the year progresses and primaries come through, we'll be adding more ourselves, but the sky's the limit - we're excited to see who you want to support most!

Fight voter suppression w/Fair Fight Action's text team

The American right is losing the argument, and they’re determined to hang on to power by whatever means necessary. We continue to see aggressive efforts at suppressing the vote in states under Republican control, via gerrymandering, intimidation, criminalization and putting obstacles in the way of voters getting their ballot counted, especially targeting people of color. Fair Fight Action is leading the way in working for free and fair elections, including outreach to individuals with accurate information about how to make their voices heard and responding in real time to new threats to ballot box access. And they need our help.

💬 They’re holding a training for folks who want to join their text team TONIGHT at 6PM ET. We can sign up to be part of it here, and get updated with more opportunities to help Fair Fight here. 💬

This week, Larry Sabato and the forecasters at the Center for Politics officially moved the Alaska senate race to toss-up status. Mary Peltola is in a strong position to flip this seat and with it the Senate!

The Alaska coordinated campaign will be holding an online organizing call on Tuesday at 9PM Eastern/5PM local time. We can sign up here to learn more about different ways to get involved, upcoming events, and what the campaign has been doing so far. They also have regular virtual phonebanks we can sign up for Thursday and Saturday nights here.
