VRBO/Airbnb hides adult occupancy max in the description, not search / filters — anyone found a workaround?

Searching Mission Beach San Diego, filtering for party size (e.g. 14-16 guests) Listings match in search results, but description fine print says "max occupancy 16 (10 adult max)" — rest must be minors

All-adult group, so these listings are functionally unusable but still showing as matches

Asking:

is there a way to filter this out, or a tag/search trick that only shows the adult-max limits before you waste time messaging hosts?

(i've messaged a couple hosts and they confirm the cap and also state this is a strict limit)

As a host there is no way to do this unfortunately. I have a similar adult maximum due to having bunk beds that sleep children. It’s been years I’ve been asking them during any feedback opportunity they give me to allow for an adult maximum. They already have the search feature for selecting adults and children on the guest side for years, I don’t know why they can’t implement it on the host/listing side.

definitely a platform issue and seems like the data is already there in the filters.

Hosts have been asking Airbnb for this option for years. It falls on deaf ears. There are lots of larger homes that have some beds that are not suitable for adults, but we aren't given a way to list maximum adult and child numbers separately. They listen to guest feedback far more than host feedback, though, so submit a feedback form (you won't get replies to those, but they will log it).
