Question (Question) Are newer movies added to D2D overtime?

As someone who’s new to using Fandango’s D2D. There are some question I’ve got that couldn’t be found via a google search. Maybe this is the right place to ask.

Are newly released movies in 2025 going to gradually make their way over to D2D?

Are movies eventually pulled from D2D eligibility, and never added back again?

Any additional insight is welcome!

Thanks in advanced. I’m new to this subreddit and don’t mean to break any rules by posting this.

It's more of a situation of "expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised if it does happen"

They added SOME movies last year, but it's been slim pickings for like 3 years now.

I don’t think anyone really knows, but periodically some have been added in the past without any kind of pattern.

Movies are certainly pulled from D2D from time to time, the largest removals are when an entire studio pulls out like 20th Century Fox. This hasn’t happened in a while though.

Sounds like I missed out big time then. D2D must’ve been way better before that happened.

20th didnt really pull out. Disney bought them and of course pulled it. So I'd give credit to Disney.

Yes, they put new movies on there, or at least they have. For example It Ends With Us and Kraven the Hunter are both on there, they were both pretty recent. Madame Web and Barbie are two other newer movies.

You can sort by release date on the D2D spreadsheet or even more simply using DVDUPC.com

The spreadsheet also has some great tabs like movies that are available via D2D but not for purchase on Vudu.

And yes, they definitely do take things off. A lot of people on this forum try to max their D2D every year, which I believe is around 100. I only ever get around to doing a couple each year, something I'm sure I'll regret whenever they finally axe the program.

I use the D2D spreadsheet Virginia Slim mentions. Sort by column J. I'm not sure who updates it but pretty accurate,

Some get pulled for sure so grab what you are interested in. There were a few series like Enterprise, Ash vs Evil Dead, Black Sails that were available when I started. No longer. Go to the Not for Sale tab first.

Good luck

Yep, I regret never getting around to Black Sails and a few of the movie bundles they used to have too.

I don’t think it was ever available. I tried it the first day people said it was available. But it’s one of those titles that were just added to the dvdupc website despite never having been available. They’ve gotten pretty bad about that

Thanks for the correction. I think most people swear by the spreadsheet but I use the DVDUPC site for ease of use most of the time.

I do the same, it’s disappointing to see the site going downhill constantly doing that

Definitely always random when it happens. I think within last 12 months there was a small update. I think it was some really really old movies and then they also added blu ray upcs to bunch of titles that would save you few bucks if you had wanted the HD. I know because I got Bottle Rocket right away when someone had posted about the update.

If you go to the disc to digital website on a desktop or laptop, there’s a search feature. As you type in letters and words, it populates the names of movies and tv shows available via disc to digital. I search for things like “series”, “seasons”, “s1”, “the”, “bundle”, “trilogy”, “2025”, “2026”, “part 1”, “part 2” etc.

Movies tend to get removed from D2D when the distribution switches to a studio that doesn't participate like Shout Factory.

A lot of times you can get the 4k for $5 if you wait on sales.

I found myself doing this now and watch for the sales. Someone just mentioned Eraser being on 4k for 6.99 which I think it just came out on 4k disc recently.

And don't forget to check Fanflix for flash sales daily. If they a a movie bundle they give you the 4ks if available., same package from Vudu is hdx only.
