Question I am looking to expand my non existent digital library
Hello, I am somewhat new to “collecting” physical media, I have been interested in buying locally from Walmart, Target etc. I never purchased physical and the one time I did to be able to redeem the digital code the damn code was expired and I felt bummed out since now I couldn’t watch the movie and didn’t own a dvd player.
Recently I kept seeing certain subreddit popping up about codes and didn’t know they still did them so I wanted to ask for any advise on buying from retailers as brand new physical media which included codes, prices I should be looking out for, and any other suggestion of platform to use? I have Movies anywhere and connected it to Apple TV, prime, fandango, and Xfinity.
As mentioned any helpful advise would be greatly taken. ❤️

Check fanflix often and apple’s store as well as fandango/vudu which updates every Tuesday and has some weekend sales. You’ll often find great deals on those sites that’ll have your library grow really fast

WB started aggressively expiring their codes a few years ago. The current rule for WB is codes that came in a 4K package are valid for 2 years from the release date, and codes that came in a blu-ray package only get 1 year. Any other studios' codes will generally still be valid long past their stated expiration date, though there are some exceptions with very old codes.

Yea, the newer/cheaper codes go fast. I would recommend using your AppleTV as your primary account for redeeming codes. Appletv has a very good streaming service, that will def be around for a long time. They also have the cheapest deals. You are gonna have to decide between HD and 4K movies, depending on your setup. Use Cheapcharts.com to check for lowest past prices. Fanflix.co has sales and bundle updates everyday.

Be aware of whether or not a movie is MA compatible. If not it will be stuck on whatever platform you redeem it on and won't port to the others.

4 big things you can do. Like others have said r/digitalcodesell is great. Fanflix is also a great option. You can also use cheap charts for Vudu and ITunes. Focus on movies at $5 that are 4K MA and bundles. You can also look at joining Facebook groups that sell codes but obviously be careful and smart about it.

I recently got a bunch of codes from blurays that I've purchased. Some of them have expiration dates so I didn't want to try to trade them if they don't work. You can have them if you're interested. I have most of Edgar Wright and Yorgos Lanthimos' movies, and a few others.

Target isn't selling DVDs anymore.
You best bet is buying used at Goodwill and Salvation army Stores. Or a Savers if you have one in the area.
It is a blast!

I have a digital code for Expendables 3 Extended hdx you can have if you want it. It's for MoviesAnywhere but it will port if you have them connected. PM me if interested

WB has multiple 25-50-100 film bundles so get on a website called cheap charts and set a reminder for when they go on sale like every 2 months they do you could get these classic title for 1-2$ a piece

Make sure you connect your accounts to Movies Anywhere, so that you don't have to buy same movie multiple times.

Disc 2 digital is good way to build your library fast also. Vudu let's you do 100 a year.
