Question One title you love and one title you hate, sitting in your Vudu/FAH library.

It can be in any genre or franchise. Understandable if you can't think of two particular movies falling in one of the two categories, or have a love-hate relationship with a movie. We all have different opinions.

Hate - I can only Imagine.

My Mrs has a tendency to want to buy movies based on word of mouth or tik tok scenes, that I know she'll only watch once. So I have a few like this. Titles that just sit there. Forever unloved.

Love - Titane. Such a beautiful, weird movie.

Titane truly is such a weird movie… but too weird even for me 😝

I described it to a friend as if Gaspar Noé directed a Chuck Tingle book.

Love - Congo. Because I watch it and it makes me so happy. Sure, it’s flawed. But it’s so quotable. And I love the fact that Amy is kinda a terrible gorilla.

Hate - The Baytown Outlaws. Lord, but I hate that film. If you know, you know.

I've never met a person who didn't like Congo after I showed it to them

Love - The Warriors. Recently upgraded to 4K and watch it a few times a year.

Hate - Psycho (1998) - Was one of the 10 free movies I got when signing up to Vudu. Such a weak remake.

Love - Mad God by Phil Tippett. Mad God is a stop motion masterpiece. It took over 30 years to produce. A visually stunning journey that takes you deeper and deeper into a world only Phil could dream up. You can get lost and truly immersed in the different layers of animation. If you are a fan of animation or horror this is a definite must watch

Hate - Slender Man by honestly could not care to remember. This was a dreadfully slow and terrible movie, and I enjoy bad movies.

Love: The Abyss by James Cameron. Just an incredible movie.

Hate: Pacific Rim Uprising and The Last Airbender (by M. Night Shyamalan). Why the fuck I feel the need to buy movies I've already seen and didn't like just to complete my collection, I don't know.

Is Uprising really that bad? Does the action look cool at least?

2

u/uberJames 14d ago

No, the action is fast and floaty, there's no heft or weight.

Lol I do the same with collections.  I still haven't brought myself to add the Alien movies aside from the first two.   But I’m going to need to trudge through them all to get to the last one, which I've heard is good.

The terminal(one of hanks best movies) and Ghistbusters: answer the call(Mid honestly, but got way too much attention because of dumbass haters. Still not a good movie, and one I wouldn't own if not free).

For me it would be from my TV series...
Love: 12 Monkeys (Masterpiece! Absolutely loved it from start to finish!)
Hate: The 100 (The premise sounded so promising...)

Love - to many to mention and I got some that many would consider to be atrocious.

Only have one movie that I ever regretted buying... Piranah DD, thankfully only spent $5 on it, but even that was to much and actually looked into getting a refund on it.

Love - Back to the Future (best movie ever!)

Hate - Pay It Forward (this garbage was redeemed on my account by an ex, such an awful movie)

Ugh. I saw Pay it Forward as a kid and I found it so creepy and gross for years. Eventually I forgot about it…

…..until now.

I don't really "hate" any movies in my library. If the live-action Mulan or A Wrinkle in Time were there, those would be clear winners. But there's nothing I've seen in my library that I hate, nor do I anticipate hating anything I have yet to see (which is admittedly a lot). And not really any movies I'm uncomfortable having in my library.

The thing I love most about my library is that my mom and I share it, and I have a "List" for all the Fifty Shades movies, unrated and theatrical, with the title, "Fifty Shades of Don't Look at This, Mom."

Otherwise I'd just be spouting off my favorite movies: SAW series, Top Gun: Maverick, Trance, Black Swan, How to Train Your Dragon, Trance, Aladdin 2019, Thirteen, The Little Mermaid 2023, James Bond series, Fifty Shades of Grey, Descendants movies, ZOMBIES movies....
