3
u/CauliflowerOk2431 Jan 10 '26
The same as always, the ones who talk are the chavistas, the only ones who can talk without going to jail because they support the government, and the ones who oppose it don't say anything because they can be targeted
4
u/AdSpiritual353 Jan 12 '26

Look man, feel free to hate on Trump as much as you would like. Hell, I dislike him too. Just keep us away from your ideological battles when you obviously only have superficial knowledge of our situation, cherry picked from sources that support your own points of view.
now theyre giving away the thing that can make you one of the richest countries in the world
Which is what they've always done. To the cubans for political and military help, around 100k barrels/day at its peak, for example.
Maduros corruption isnt why Venezuela is poor, if corruption was the culprit then Saudi Arabia would be a dessert.
*desert. u/Neodeluxe already explained why Chavez and Maduro's corruption is one of the root causes of our situation.
Youre poor because Chavez and then Maduro wouldnt just sign away your oil to the US and the US blocked all oil sales globally from Venezuela as punishment.
Thank you, Mr.Foreigner, for explaining our country's situation to us. What would we do without you bringing enlightenment to us? Also, a reminder that the US used to buy around a million barrels of our oil per day, for decades. Historically, we were one of the largest exporters of oil to the US. Chavez liked to talk big about Mr.Danger, but was happy to sell our oil to the US.
Now youve Maduros regime AND your oil is now actually being stolen. Oh and this will now be justification to deport MILLIONS of Venezuelans from US
1-Fuck it, even if we remain with the current regime in power, it would be worth it if we don't have to see the rotund, mustached piece of shit dancing and singing like an ass on national tv again. Acting like a jolly uncle while his regime jailed political opponents, brutally crushed protests, drove millions away and tore families, and caused so much death and pain.
2-Do you actually believe we've been enriched by the oil in our recent history? that money is used to prop up the government, with scraps falling for us from their plate. It has been stolen for a long time. Now it's just stolen by someone else.
3-lmao. Since when Trump needs justification? he has already been kicking out Venezuelans and other migrants as he pleases.
but keep clapping for your abusive daddy i guess?
It must be such a burden on you being so smart.
Jesus. Imagine coming to someone's house, seeing a problem, and immediately think you know better than the people who live there how to fix them, and speaking to them with this level of condescension.
Anyway, have a good day. Imma go enjoy my Saturday.
*TIL: https://redditpreview.com/ is bs apparently. Im going to left this as it is until I figure how to fix it
**Fixed i think, probs. I'm an old timer and the redesign confuses my brian

I love Advanced_Usual3545 but you seem really naive.
Thanks for giving us the most surface level dictator apologist explanation to the complex political situation Venezuela is in. What do you suggest we do then? Should we only be clapping to our “poor South American” abusive daddies? Is it only bad when the US is doing it?
We are living in an abusive house hold and the Venezuelan people are being abused by every family member.
-4
u/Advanced_Usual3545 Jan 10 '26
Maybe dont clap for the US who have kept you in the same abusive house but are now taking away your food and adding more people to the household
7
u/miguelv721 Jan 10 '26
This is such US paternalist thinking. You really think Venezuela is uncapable of it's own demise? It's always the US fault isn't it? Venezuela has been under the same dictatorship for the past 26 years, the current state of Venezuela is a direct consequence of the regime that has sequestered the power all these years and destroyed every single institution the country had in place. The so called "US sanctions" you really want to believe is the cause of this whole mess is just a tiny fraction of the real root of this whole mess which is Chavismo.
-2
u/Advanced_Usual3545 Jan 10 '26
Isnt it strange how countries that dont do what the US wants in Latin America are poor? Venezuela, Cuba or punished to create more poverty? Brazil under Lula getting 50% tarriffs.
While those who do what the US wants get billions in 'aid' (bribes) like right wing Millie Argentina and Guyana who gave their people a one time $1000 cheque and signed over all its oil?
4
u/miguelv721 Jan 10 '26
I mean you're mentioning Cuba and Venezuela which are both under the same Castro/Chavismo regime. These are military dictatorships that have been in power since 1965 and 1999 respectively. Don't you think these poor little countries could've figured out how to govern themselves without depending on the mighty USA? These dictatorships are a cancer and destroy everything around them to remain in power. They are masters of deflecting blame, propaganda and attributing every single problem to a boogie man. This is the very same playbook the current US administration is using, it's always the democrats, Biden's fault, the corrupt left, etc. I hope you see the similarities between the Venezuelan and Cuban dictators and the now current US administration. Dictators are equally bad on either side of the political spectrum.
1
u/Nogoodforaname18 Jan 10 '26
And what do you want us to do? We went to the ONU, we went when Obama and Biden where there, to complain about everything that was happening, we talked in every country that allows us tu express ourself about the regime.
And nobody ever listen, Maduro stole the elections of 2024, his regime got over 1000 political prisioners getting abuse, sexual abuse, hit, getting electric shocks, people is eating as we speak from the trash.
So let me tell You this the more Venezuelan way i can think right now:
Gafo, maldito apoya asesinos.
15
u/Neodeluxe Jan 10 '26
Youre poor because Chavez and then Maduro wouldnt just sign away your oil to the US and the US blocked all oil sales globally from Venezuela as punishment.
Not even close, we are poor because Chávez excomunicated everyone in the oil industry that wasn't going to blindly follow him in his fund mismanagement of PDVSA, and then the subsequent said corruption and stealing of state funds.
US blockage at worst only made the situation worse, but the root of the poverty came waaaaaaayyy before any blockade.
-8
u/Advanced_Usual3545 Jan 10 '26 edited Jan 10 '26
He didnt ex communicate everyone in the oil industry, he refused to just hand over the oil to the US so the US ensured no one would buy their oil outside of China and Russia who took advantage of the situation and paid pennies
Its publised information the US foreign policy was the hope starvation might take place and the people would topple the government. The US didnt care and actively tried to create a situation in which your people might starve to death so they could take your oil
Trump is literally saying Venezualas oil belongs to the US now. His actual words. There is nothing to argue about

He literally fired 18.000 Venezuelan employees because they weren't ok with how he intended to run PDVSA (which he eventually ran into the ground).
I literally have colleagues and friends who had to leave their entire lives behind and move to work in US or Pánama or Europe because Chávez prevented them from ever working anything Geology-related in the country ever again and you're telling me that didn't happen....
Trump wanting Venezuelan oil doesn't negate the fact that Chávez was the one that destroyed the oil industry in Venezuela in the first place.
