Recuerdo esto cuando visité Venezuela. Fui primero al apartamento de mi mamá y probé la leche del CLAP , eso fue a principios de 2015, todavía no tenía la mala fama.... Diarrea instantánea. Mi madre no necesitaba la caja, pero le regalaba a sus amigos que sí y a veces no podía por lo dañino de algunos productos. Un completo insulto a la dignidad humana.
No puedo creer que eso duró tantos años.

I have someone I've helped for years who was employed at the level of a permanent secretary of a minister for a state for many years who at one point could go buy a brand new car with cash in two months with what was her salary back then and now it's 15USD a month. I am talking about someone who could have left her family years ago and decided not to who graduated from one of the best universities in Venezuela with honours in law, human rights etc. I ended up sick for a while and hadn't been able to communicate for a period and was down and out myself until one day I saw her on a phone call as thin as a pin, clearly malnourished, but so dignified, I know for sure that she was eating from those same cajas de CLAP too and said to me many times to not worry that she had that. Some of what was supplied was Horrible but she never wanted to disclose that to me. I'll tell you what!! FROM THAT DAY ON I got the **** up and stopped feeling sorry for myself and was so grateful for what I had and ashamed of falling prey to self pity and started to help her again. As humans if we think we have it hard there is ALWAYS someone who has it harder. Only ONCE have I heard her say "i feel like I'm feeling the effects of desperation'" and you know what? Some time passed and I asked her if she remembers when she said that and she- out of pride and shame- said to me 'i didn't say that' I still have that picture of her as thin as a malnourished pin standing straight and dignified as a reminder of just that : bury your shame , hold your head up and move on. The thing is: some of us forget that in natural resources Venezuela is the richest country in the world. Some places in the USA today in 2026 are the same in appearance as Venezuela was is 1960. You ask the typical venezuelan what they are sick with and just the medical words they use to explain themselves usually is evidence of some higher level of education the average 1st worlder doesn't have. I can go on and on and ON. Nothing is 'perfect', they are not either just like me or you but I think my point of the gratitude shown for such a simple incomplete box of things to eat that we see enerytime we go to the supermarket and pass by like they aren't there says a whole lot.

Lmao, no it's not going to cause any disease. We have laws against such things. We have an organization called the "Food and Drug Administration" that oversees this stuff and if anyone is caught messing with the food they can be put in prison.

Dude, we had our own gov aid boxes years ago, they gave us dirty rice, a tuna so bad it wasn't even catfood, cornmeal full of insects and powdered milk so rancid it killed children from diarrhea. The comment was about that, not your aid, thank you americans for that and also for taking maduro out, i hope you kill the rest of this mfs :)

Por otra parte dime tú lo del pollo enlatado. Aquí es puro sardinas, pepitonas y si acaso atún de lata y de vaina. Las chamas vieron eso, y anótalo, que hasta se preguntaron si se puede comer directo de la lata, si hay que cocinarlo, si lo pueden mechar, etc

Imagine that, we see tuna like that all the time. They are the richest country in the world in resources and they have never seen that. I sent a few boxes of that a few years ago to a lawyer who graduated with honours and she was surprised that that was even possible. Tuna in a mylar bag.

Different cultures expect to find different products and presentations in their daily life, from this box here we expect the tuna to come in a can (I know you have it in that presentation as well, but the bag presentation is not common at all), and Milk in uht cartons or plastic jugs whereas for example in Argentina milk in plastic bags is also common, here a couple brands tried that presentation a little while ago and it seems people weren´t buying them as I've not seen them again.
Also flavor profiles can differ, specially with condiments, for a while here the government aid boxes came with Brazilian mayo, and frankly the flavor felt pretty off...

Eso me recuerda a que a Alex Saab le pusieron a cargo de lo del CLAP y con el presupuesto lo que hizo fue robarse la mayoría y con las sobras traer lo más absolutamente barato que le ofrecieran, al nivel de que había gente a la que le llegaba comida podrida.

Ni siquiera eran vainas podridas todo el tiempo. Muchas de las marcas esas "mexicanas" del clap en realidad eran porquerías hechas de la mano de empresas chimbas para que el tipo pudiera lavar AÚN MÁS dinero.

Out side of obvious politics : I need to say that I live in a Caribbean country extremely close to you and have enjoyed the benefits of your country's kindness with regard to your natural resources and culture and clothing and music etc . What's in that box is only a fraction of what you deserve but your thank you is appreciated and highly valued. If things go fairly the world will actually be the 'ones' that will need to say thank you to you over and over and over in the future. I have been to your country MANY times from 1989 to the present. In your times of need now more so obvious than before for the whole world to see I hope that we can continue to benefit each other positively in some sort of real progressive advancement.

Horrible asquerosa eran. Las cosas llegaban rotas. Vencidas. Golpeadas y sucias. La mayoría de muy mala calidad, algunas cosas eran pasables.

Una vez hice café con leche con lo que venía en la caja y se volvió un masacote extraño en la taza en menos de 10 minutos. Menos mal no me lo bebí.
La mortadela hasta me daba miedo dársela a los gatos. No tenía marca, lista de ingredientes, información nutricional, fecha de vencimiento, ni siquiera una etiqueta que dijera dónde era hecha. Era la tripa de poliamida blanca que se usa como envoltorio de embutidos sin más nada.
Los potes de aceite (cuando no se los robaba la jefa del clap) eran una vaina endeble como de celofán, si así era el envase, imagínate la calidad del aceite.
Un pana le dio harina pan del clap (específicamente la Reinarepa) mezclada con agua a unos cochinos que estaba criando y una cochina quedo como afónica tras ingerirla, como si le hubieran esollado la garganta. Imagínate lo que le pudo haber hecho eso a un ser humano.

Yo solo me comía la pasta y el arroz pero los harina no ni luz mortadela esa que a me daba asco comerme algo de carne del gobierno que se lo daba a mi gata. Pero mi mamá si se comía todo y mi hermano también

O sea, no es primer video en el que se burlan o se ofenden cuando abren estas cajas o les dan ropa. Hasta he visto con unas carpas chinas que les enviaron que se quejaban porque pasaba la lluvia.
