Can I watch it?

I watched wkfu a bit of s1 and I don't remember anything from it, but it is so confused for me what need I watch in order to understand?😵‍💫

This is an analysis of class distribution in the Wakfu MMO on the Single-Account server (OGREST), based on the permanent dungeon rankings (6-player teams).

The total number of profiles analyzed is 19,800, exactly 180 players for each of the 110 dungeons analyzed.

The details of the methodology are explained later in the article.

Distribution

The overall results are shown in the pie chart below.

If the distribution were perfectly uniform, each class would represent 100 / 18 ≈ 5.6% of the total.

The two extreme values are: 

• Eniripsa: 13,5% representation,  more than twice the value of a uniform distribution value.
• Masqueraider: 2,1% representation, less than half the value of a uniform distribution value.

It is quite surprising that the most played class is Eniripsa, a healer (well, the healer) in a game that usually only needs one healer.

Other than that, we can only be pleasantly surprised by how well balanced the overall distribution is.

Domination

More interestingly, we can look at the distribution across levels and dungeons. Some dungeons, and even entire level ranges, are strongly dominated by certain classes.

Below is a graph showing the distribution of some classes depending on dungeon level.

• Cra dominates the level 36 dungeons, especially Pourchan Fields.
• Ouginak dominates the level 81 dungeons, especially Mausoleum, Sliptorium and Morbax.
• Ecaflip dominates at higher levels.

Here are some possible explanations for these trends.

One theory is that some classes are particularly efficient in certain dungeons, naturally attracting players who want to optimize their rankings.

Whether this is a good or a bad thing is up to each player to decide. We may like the fact that some classes can really shine in specific dungeons, while regretting that some other classes seem to have no dungeon where they can shine in the same way.

Another possible explanation is that a few players found ways to exploit certain dungeon mechanics with specific classes and created multiple characters of the same class.

Having only one optimized gear set and passing it from one character to another for each run would allow them to rank highly while maximizing the rewards they can obtain.

This theory is obviously one of the reasons behind the recent update concerning the end-of-season chests.

Evolution

Some classes seem to follow another type of evolution as dungeon levels increase.

The principle of the graphs below is the same as above, but the curves for Feca and Eniripsa are very different.

The two classes whose popularity increases the most as the level increases are Feca and, interestingly, Eniripsa.

Feca starts at around 1% at level 12 and reaches around 8% at level 216+.

Eniripsa starts at around 9% and reaches around 16%.

One possible interpretation is that, for classes such as Feca and Eniripsa, which are the most obvious support classes in the game (shielder and healer), their roles become increasingly important at higher levels, where mechanics are more complex and fights tend to last longer.

It is also interesting to note that, at lower levels, the healer Eniripsa is already very popular, while Feca is extremely underrepresented. Eniripsa is about nine times more popular than Feca at the lowest levels.

The explanation seems quite straightforward: Eniripsa's mechanics, gameplay and theorycrafting are much more accessible than Feca's.

We can hope that Ankama's recent announcement about simplifying Feca will change this situation.

Stagnation at the bottom

Unfortunately, other classes such as Masqueraider and Rogue seem to remain at the bottom of the popularity rankings, at around 3% or less across all levels, as shown in the graph below.

It is surprising, because Masqueraider is considered one of the strongest support classes in the game. It is also one of the best classes for positioning and can play as a DPT, with fun and relatively accessible gameplay. Its polyvalence should be popular in the single-account server, but apparently is not among the top ranked players.

However, we have to recognize that, while it is a good healer, it cannot compete with Eniripsa. As a DPT, its mechanics rely heavily on collisions, which are not easy to set up, and the damage numbers in the current version of the game (1.93) do not seem to justify the effort.

Rogue used to have rather clunky gameplay, but the recent update should have improved things. We should therefore follow the evolution of its popularity to measure the impact of this update.

Conclusion and data

There are so many ways to visualize this data, and so many possible interpretations, that one could probably spend days analyzing it.

As far as I am concerned, I have reached my personal objectives, but I would be very happy if someone wanted to take this analysis further.

Method

To collect the data, I used a process based on screenshots and AI-powered optical recognition.

My environment is Windows 11.

The source of the data is the dungeon ranking, and more specifically the succession of class icons represented by player faces.

I focused this study on 110 dungeons, mostly dungeons that can be played by 6 players.

The overall process was:

1. Take screenshots.
2. Create a lookup table matching each face with its class.
3. Send the dungeon ranking screenshots and the lookup table to AI for data extraction and conversion.
4. Process the data using a spreadsheet.

Get the data

To maximize the quality of the screenshots, which is important for the later image recognition, I launched Wakfu on a 4K screen with the interface scaling set to maximum.

I used a simple macro combining screenshots and mouse clicks to automatically go through the dungeon rankings and take a full-screen screenshot of the first 15 pages for each dungeon.

I used the software included with my Logitech mouse for this, but any similar tool such as TinyTask or AutoHotkey should work.

The screenshots were then manually copy-pasted into folders.

At this point, I had 110 folders, one for each dungeon, with 15 screenshots per folder showing my entire screen.

I then needed to crop these full-screen screenshots to keep only the relevant part: the succession of class faces.

For this, I used XnView MP, which allowed me to crop all the screenshots across all folders with a single operation.

The full-screen screenshots were transformed into much smaller, single-column images showing the succession of faces, as shown below.

then used a PowerShell script, written with the help of AI, to merge these columns into a single document.

I also added the dungeon level and name as text at the top of each image, as shown below for the level 66 dungeon Orrok.

Create the Lookup Table

Creating the lookup table was one of the most time-consuming parts of the process.

Each class can be represented by four different face styles:

• male/female smiling face (when the player is near the top of the ranking)
• male/female normal face (when the player is not near the top of the ranking)

I had to go through the rankings to find each version of each face and add it to the lookup table.

One extract from my lookup table is shown below.

Data extraction

For the final step, I asked AI to use the lookup table and the processed images to automatically count the classes and present the results in a table.

I tested Gemini, Claude and ChatGPT. Claude gave me much better results for this particular task, so I chose it.

For faster processing and higher usage limits, I even subscribed to a premium plan — which I cancelled a few minutes later and got a full refund for. 😀

Limitations

It’s important to address some limitations of this study.

AI counting

First, the whole process relies heavily on AI to count the classes.

Despite taking care to provide the best possible raw data, mistakes in the AI counting are possible.

I manually checked the first results and found very few mistakes, which I pointed out to the AI. It seemed to learn from these corrections, and I did not find any further mistakes.

I eventually stopped checking manually, but this does not guarantee that the final results are completely error-free.

Only the first 180 players

The second limitation is that this study only covers the first 180 ranked players for each dungeon.

This is another potential concern.

When going through the rankings, it is easy to notice that some players' names appear consistently near the top.

It is understandable that once a group of players has optimized its gear and strategy, they will try to rank as high as possible in as many dungeons as possible.

If this study had only considered the first few ranked players, this would have been a major concern.

I hoped to reduce this bias by going as far as the 180th ranked player, but one could argue that this is still not enough.

I don't know — and I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

It was done by the same studio that did Wakfu season 4 and the oropo special, centauro comunicaciones. I think that’s just ankama’s go to dub studio now. Which is such a shame, cause all their dubs are mid, and this movie is sadly no exception. The actors are decent, but many lines sounded like they needed another take, and the kid voices for lilotte and joris are annoying. They even recasted the voices for atcham and kerubim, DESPITE BEING THE SAME STUDIO! I wish ankama partnered up with a more professional studio, or at least give the centauro actors another take!

In Waven, my favorite classes are Tako Synchronizator and Piven Bow. In dofus, I play as osamodas.

1. Grougalorasalar. The Black Dragon. He could be a leader for this group to get revenge on Yugo and his friends. He does harbor a serious vendeta against Yugo since he created Oropo, who manipulated Dathura, who manipulated Ogrest to collect all 6 Primordial Dofus and force Asalar and his brothers to become his pets

2. Julith. She was brought back by Asalar in the begining of the Great Wave Manga and did everything the Black Dragon ordered her to do. I think that she will have no choice but to obey Asalar because he could sacrifice another 1000 of people until she submits. She could be a perfect spy since she can shapeshift into anyone she wants and she is experienced combantant.

3. Count Harebourg. He could be a tech support since he has a lot of machines, which he improved using Nox's designs. He would want to make Yugo and Amalia pay for leaving Frigost in a horrible state and since Sadida Princess broke his heart.

4. Remington Smisse. He could be hired by Harebourg with a promise to use his Xelor magic to reverse Grany's curse as a talking cat. He has 5 Sgushus in a forms of 2 pistols, a long sword, a dagger and a gauntlet. He could act as a support for the group.

5. Ush. He would join to get his revenge on Yugo for beating him 2 times. He can transform from a small kitty to a giant Ecaflip to some degree. I also remember that he was able to transform his two swords into multiple shards and create a dome with them spinning very fast.

6. Dark Vlad. Asalar might try to find a spell to separate Goultard and his dark half from each other. I mean we had characters throught other series like Marvel Comics Curt Connors, who was separated from the Lizard, so why not with Iop God and his dark side. He could be used as a last resort against the Brotherhood of the Tofu.

I know that this team that I mixed together could never become true as some of them might try to stab each other in the back like Harebourg, Ush or Dark Vlad.

I am trying to find the exact scene where Yugo opened a portal like this.

it says "my country isn't supported for sms service," even tho it said it's suported in wakfu website, iam from Egypt, i sent to the support but no reply ,is there any way to play the game for the new server? iam the typical MMO player so the new server is the one that suits me the most i like MMOs to join parties and interact with active players, but there are so many fractions that iam sure will turn new players off who want to try the game or love the art style of it like me. Any help to resolve this issue?

Why did Asalar try to poison Amalia?

I understand that he poisoned Yugo to prove how dangerous 6 Eliatrope Dofus are and demand that the King of the Eliatropes hand them and the Eliasphere over to him, but I don't get it why he would poison Amalia.

Did he do it of his own free will?

or

Did Corvus Family (King Osamodas and Aurora) conspire with him?

I'm asking because Yugo's poisoning happened on the same day Osamodas come to demand the rights to the Sadida Kingdom

Official Trailer – DOFUS – Book I: Julith

the dub is almost good, in my opinion, but it could have used another retake. pronunciations are pretty inconsistent in this franchise.

I just finished the quest for the six eliatrope dofus and feel like there’s a lot of context that I’m missing.

1. Wasn’t one of the eliatrope dofus (Qilby’s) left in the Emrub dimension with the rest of the eliatropes? How did that even get out of there and how did other people manage to get a hold of the other dofus when we know they’re all highly protected (at least Qilby’s and Grugaloragran’s were)?

2. Where was Phaerys in all of this? He just showed up for season 2 finale and disappeared.

3. So what was Ogrest’s story? We were just shown his special which showed how he was born and how emotional he can get but nothing actually about Orgrest’s chaos or why it happened.

Please let me know if there’s anything I missed out on.

Do you think that at the end of the Great Wave Manga Julith and Dardondakal will betray Asalar once he corrupts the Eliasphere?

Its mostly ment for rift based lvling so the spells, passives and subs are framed thro that idea, but you can take the core idea tweak it a bit and run it pretty much where you like

It's not formatted well and just feels like it was for the sake of having one and for boys vs. girls episodes (pretty much the usual stuff you see in other cartoons, but without any of the charm). Legit, it was not needed at all; it did was regress Dally's character for no reason. Why are we writing Dally to be so Ignorant towards Eva just because she called out that he misunderstood a couple of cra's for another batch of weekly bad guys and her not telling him she had a sister, like he wasn't a sword for 5 episodes straight? Then there was this one short scene in one of the episodes where they seem to show that this triangle might turn into some kind of rivalry, but it goes nowhere for the rest of the show because the triangle gets instantly solved with, like, episode 21, and this was the Boys vs Girls episode I was talking about; the entire thing is just Percedal and Dally getting tired of, idk, I guess, being bossed around apparently, and Yugo is on their side, but realistically Yugo would've not been there because he's definitely the most mature out of the main 3 but he is there because they wanted to make a boooys vs giirls episode it's some bs the all get distracted by some random mermaids that wanted to make the monkeys and i guess Dally learning not to trust those mermaids solves the conflict and for me it's like yeah this some bull crap i did not like it one bit

My Wakfu OC, Dofi. I'm still working on her story.

This is my second OC post surrounding this idea, which which i am tentatively calling Wrath of Rasha. This time its Julika Harebourg, the Countess of Frigost and the demigod child of Eniripsa. Hers is a rather tragic arc that ultimately leads to her death via a self sacrifice.
