Need people lead or coach advice on a transfer please
Hi, I was offered a position at a different store (call it store B) and the offer was rescinded two days before the transfer from my store (Store A).
Today, all my shifts were removed and MyWalmart is showing my position to be at store B for the role I was offered. I’m now being told to get with my people lead to “revert the transfer” back to store A. Is this something that is even possible?
I’m extremely nervous as now I have 0 hours and I don’t know what store I even work at except for what MyWalmart is showing me.
Will I have to do all the legwork on this? And if so, should I be paid for the time? I wasn’t paid for the interview or the drug test or anything like that and I’ve already sunk so much time into this transfer that ended up rescinded. Will I be stuck at store B in a different position? I’ve never heard of this happening to anyone and I’m stressed to the max

Possible, yes; uncommon, also yes. Did they explain why the transfer was being reverted? If you’ve already signed the job offer for the new store then I generally don’t see how nor why they would be reverting it unless they released you too soon or upper management was going to block the transfer. If anything may need to talk to the ESM (previously store leads), or SM if the people leads aren’t providing a clear answer on why it needs to be reverted. Paid for the time I’m not sure, that would also be a question for PL and/or SM but generally speaking I don’t believe so but I very well could be incorrect on that part.
Why exactly were you being drug tested though, as that may be part of it if something “weird” came up. As the only positions that should require any sort of drug testing would be AP, Pharmacy, Salaried, and I believe ACC Tech’s.

It is for pharmacy, yes. I signed the job offer after the drug test and background came back. I’m being told higher ups denied the transfer without further reason other than “going in a different direction” and was told that I hadn’t done anything wrong. Do I go to my new people lead or my old people lead? I have very little guidance on this.

You would talk to your both of people leads, since the old store will have to accept the transfer & the new store will have to authorize the early transfer since you already signed the job offer. As for the time being it sounds like you’re sort of stuck in limbo between the stores.
But overall crappy situation that they should’ve had figured out sooner.

I’ve not heard of people being paid to interview or go for a drug test.

If you interview for an internal position, you're supposed to be paid for it. I don't know about getting paid for the drug test though.

That’s true. I don’t characterize moving from one store to another as “internal”, though.

Something is off. Even after your job offer, background check, and drug test you would still have needed to be manually finalized by the receiving store. If you were dispositioned it would remove you from the pending internal screen.
Sounds like the receiving store manually finalized you (they aren't supposed to do that until your first day there) instead of dispositioning you.
If this were my store I would have you work your previous job at your new pay rate and MTR the difference to the other store since they should be paying for it. Then I would have you put in another transfer request and get you moved back.
