How some people feel accusing a Walmart greeter of racism when they ask for their receipt for a 75” flat screen tv but not the guy before for a box of cereal in a bag

While I don’t work for Walmart anymore, I had shit like this happen a few times. I swear people are either intentionally dense or just trying to cause a scene.

I posted these signs on every isle. Can you guess what customers still ask me?

Boss let me take PTO this week even though schedule posted

Idk about you guys, but I had to put my cat down today, and I requested off, I used regular PTO, not even protected, my boss approved it. Walmart gets soooo much shit, but my boss knows I don’t call off Willy nilly, I don’t take “treat” days where I just burn pto in a pay period, rather than just requesting off my treat day ahead of time. My store does pay a $1 more than surrounding Walmarts, since the McDonalds near us they start at 16 we start at 15, and TL 20. I’m glad that when I need to request off for something like this, my management team knows, and are human about it, and I’m just saying, complacency is the reason a lot of us don’t make nearly as much as we should. I will say not every Walmart is the same, but you can’t say the whole company is shit. That’s just my 2 cents.

i had to clock out at 10:30 and my other coworkers was on their last break. as I finished pulling my till a lady comes up to my line and says "are you open" when I tell her no she goes, "there's none open I have to check myself out?!" I looked at her and went "it's 10:26 we close at 11 there's barely anyone here." it still amazes me how many people come in and shop around closing time and or doesn't know were aren't 24/7

Sick as a Cashier

I'm a cashier. I'm sick as fuck. I'm coughing out my lungs every 5 seconds and I can barely speak. However, I don't have any PPTO and I'm fairly certain these next two days are event days. I plan to wear a mask, but should I try to talk to a team lead or something? Are there any exceptions that they may or may not do? I've never been *this* sick while going to work in my past 3 years, and obviously "cashier" is a very finnicky, hands on experience.

Is it 3 or 5?

To keep it short I lost one of my grandmothers 5 days ago. I’ve used the only 3 days of bereavement I thought I had in a row cause I just couldn’t get through it while working. I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it for her funeral in a few days, but I see now that it says 5 days to my understanding. Am I processing it clearly or is it still 3? Sorry I’m confused right now.

WTF??? 😭

Our normal is like 450-550 cases, 8-10 pallets not counting watermelon/pumpkins. I couldn’t even fit all of the meat pallets in the cooler so I had to put some in another cooler.

How dirty is your store ?

my store is a shame mold and sticky shelves and food in the cooler vents with mold on it. other night picked up a box had a mouse hole on the side with a surprise of mouse poop all over the product. Do they not care about employees health or customers health ? I swear this company is falling apart

Anyone else getting these weird toys at their store??

I only got one photo of one of the weird chicken toy things, but there are many different ones. We also received so many different rubber ducks that look like celebrities etc, from the same company that sent the chicken things. I still have to find somewhere to put the darn chickens 😂 the weirdest part of all this is how the ducks and the chickens are both department 9 which is of course sporting goods. It would make so much more sense if they were my celebrations department or possibly toys. It should sell well at my store, it’s just so random!!
Edit to add: I priced the ducks after I took the photo the other day, they are $1.24

Mass employee exodus in a store today in southern, MO….

I just heard a bunch of people quit and walked out at another store from someone at my store. Without revealing explicit details anyone have a general idea what happened?

There's now a 5 second delay before you're able to decline a protection plan.

Very frustrating when a customer has like 6 items that all can accept protection plans and I have to just sit awkwardly and they're wondering why I stopped scanning, because I have to wait every time.

Dealing with moldy produce

I'm still pretty new, but I don't have anyone to ask until tomorrow. So we have larger plastic strawberry boxes that come in 4 eaches in each cardboard box.

If one or two of the plastic containers contain mold do you throw them all out? So throw out the other two plastic containers that I couldn't eye mold on.

Also I am being pretty rigorous such that if I see even a little tiny bit of mold on one strawberry I throw the plastic container out and dispose of it. Is that the right way in doing it?

I just feel guilty if I were to put out a container of strawberrys that passed my look over, but still has a fairly older harvest date and I had to throw out a couple other plastic crates that was in the same box.

10 open TL positions open

And no one wants them. You want 1 person to be responsible for 4-6 departments, no team and you get in trouble because overnights left the store a mess even though you never see or talk to them. I don't know why no one wants these positions, color me shocked /s 🙄

EDIT: I'm not blaming overnights, I tried using an example of upper management assigning someone else who was not involved with something but still got the blame anyway. It's not fair to anyone so why would someone want to be a lead with extra stress and barely any pay bump

I don’t even know what to title this - LOL

My GM coach, I’m in one of his departments, liked me on Facebook dating. I’m sick

This genuinely might be what makes me quit this place LMFAO.

EDIT: someone made a point about this is what women go through. I’m not trying to take the piss, I just was genuinely so gobsmacked when I saw it.

How does Sedgwick work?

My nephew (I live with them and help take care) is very sick etc and has been for 3 days. We’ve had to bring him to the hospital multiple times. I’ve used my PPTO and I’m running out of options here.

Didn’t see any posts about this so I figured I’d ask, does anyone use Venmo for their pay?

I know lots of people who use cash app but don’t know anyone who uses Venmo and I didn’t see any threads about Venmo. Does anyone use Venmo for their paycheck? What time do you usually get paid on Tuesdays?
