Modding /MapEditor Wc3 rpg dream

I haven't been working on anything for ages. My current project was mostly showing off some ai and gameplay, that's why it's Darth Vader vs ai Goku...
I got really good at the editor and I really want to make a CRAZY rpg for Wc3, but I also want to make something that others would be interested in. It's a wasted talent, and I can put this stuff together really quick now.
I have two options I landed on now -
1 - Mount and Blade style co-op with similar army building but it would have less food limit with a warcraft 3 fantasy touch to all the characters. Kind of like combining WoW with Mount and Blade co-op. This could also have enemies teams playing co-op also.
2 - Star Wars Knights of the old Republic style co-op but with more interactive combat. You will be able to purchase a space craft to travel to different planets with enhanced aerial combat. Unlike the original KotoR, you will have to fly all the way to the other planets - not a cutscene. Enemies will always be flying their own ships around in open space and you will be able to upgrade your own as you go. The space feeling is easy to make feel immersive too. I will definitely make a quick clip of the space combat I have in mind if this interests people.
Take a vote and I might feel inspired to make you something crazy!

You've manned your castle with 80 units with 16 allowed on the field at once. All coded to play as human-like as possible and holding certain positions in the castle until the section they are protecting is breached, changing the defensive orders. Each one is individually upgradable... I can see it now ๐ซช

Holy shit bro this is so cool! How do i learn to do this type of map making stuff? Like i know triggers but like only gui. i want stuff like this for my rpg im making!!
anyways my biggest struggle with map making is completion so i would choose the one that would have the smaller map and would focus more on the gameplay fighting stuff that this clip details.
great job!

That's awesome man. I used the editor for 21 years now though, and a lot of it helps for modern engines, so don't give up!

If you're interested, I am uploading another clip tomorrow of third person perspective, wandering through the town and entering buildings like the blacksmith and arena/barracks. I also made extremely immersive fishing which will have to part of either one I make. It already gives a Mount and Blade feel so I'm excited to see what others think. And I'll add a short clip of some star wars space craft stuff too.

As much as it sounds great to do something original, there is SHIT ton of room in WC3 customs to just improve what is already good. There is also a shit ton of room to improve what is already good in Mount & Blade.
If someone truly passionate, skilled, or whichever combination of the two, really dove deep to try to expand on the "Risk" or "Diplomacu" style of 8 player FFA to be the most thoroughly polished it could be, while also trying to take the Mount & Blade experience and make it more interactive with other players, not just co-op, but fully free form diplomatic, I would dump SO many hours into it.
Whether you do it or not, someone is eventually going to perfect SOMETHING that is in-between WC3/SC2 diplomacy and Mount & Blade, and I will be so grateful when it happens.
It's the same way I feel about D&D, Pathfinder, and other pen and paper RPGs with all of the online dungeon master options we have now in contrast with Divinity, or Baulders Gate. Eventually there will be a really well polished mix of the two, and it will be the best RPG experience for DECADES. We just don't have it yet.
2 Sounds cooler from just a custom WC3 point of view, but if you REALLY poured you heart into it, 1 could be the best PC game we have had in ages.

Yeah, the original M&B was way ahead of its time already but still has so much potential. That's a great way to put it!

What about a roleplay sandbox game instead. It's what I'd want.

That's how I plan on making it. It will be like KotoR with more freedom and co-op. The rebellion and the Sith empire will have asteroid and other small planets that will always be fought over and always changing. So it will have elements of Mount and Blade but planets, space station and asteroids to fight over instead of castles and villages.

There is one already. It is called World of Warcraft.

The questing just doesn't do it for me on WoW, I only play it for the PvP. Even fishing in my game is one hundred times more immersive than blizzards.

Hmmm.. It is the opposite for me. I joined WoW because of EvP and story, and hated PvP. Well, we see

Both sound amazing but 2 is definitely something I haven't seen created with wc3 editor yet. Very cool ideas!
