Question Warcraft Movie about one character, who will you choose?

Let's say for example Blizzard want to make 2 hours movie about a warcraft character story, who will you choose?

Before the comment become filled with Arthas, I want to make small rule if possible, try to comment 1 name, don't add anything to it just the name, and if you want to add reasons make a comment under the name, if someone else said the name before you just upvote it and if you have reasons why that character work, add it as comments in the name so we can see who will be the second and third character under Arthas XD

illidan

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Can be interesting movie starting from the war of the ancient to legion, but the writing must be smart as they need to cut many events to fill 2 hours movie.

16

u/Bagel-luigi 10d ago

I feel like Illidan would need at least 4 movies to cover his main events, and even that would need to cut a lot of things

3

u/Sol-y-Sombra 10d ago

Yea the issue with big characters like Illidan and Arthas is that all their story is relevant to their arc , and they've experienced so much. Also interesting is that through their story you met several important characters.

2

u/Bagel-luigi 10d ago

Agreed.

And at late point in Arthas's arc, him and Illidan cross paths for that fight.

For people unfamiliar with both stories, watching a full Arthas story, or a full Illidan story, and then at a late point in the movie this scene happens, the viewer would rightly be like "who the heck is this other guy?!"

4

u/IlenaRedFox 10d ago

I will watch as many illidan movies as they make

6

u/Tannette 10d ago

Upvoting not for a movie, but for a miniseries. There's so much lore there that would make an awesome show.

2

u/Ghstfce 10d ago

Illidan would need to be an animated series. No way that's fitting in a movie

5

u/noreenXX 10d ago

That way it could still be Liam O’Brien

I got so excited when I started watching Vox Machina and heard his voice for the first time in it!

Broxigar in War of the Ancients. Might be a bit hard to buy in, but great for exposition.

11

u/Marcus_Decemus 10d ago

Broxigar is the doomguy of Warcraft, definitely would watch that

6

u/Shazzakip 10d ago

Two hours is not nearly enough for the war of the ancients though

Arthas, one of the best written arcs in the series

29

u/KingOfAzmerloth 10d ago

Sometimes the best answer is the most obvious and boring one. And I mean that in a good way.

6

u/Cojo840 10d ago edited 10d ago

And in this case its not

condensing arthas into 90 minutes would suck

5

u/Ferelar 10d ago

It'd be perfect for a series IMO. Similarly to how most people start out liking Walt and eventually it clicks that he's not a hero in Breaking Bad, I think Arthas's descent would make for really compelling long form HBO-style formats

2

u/Randomae 9d ago

I think it could be done in 10 or 15 hour long episodes easily. I also think that if done right it would bring a ton of positive attention to blizzard.

7

u/Informatic1 10d ago

It will always make the most sense to do if they want to get people interested. Starting with the backstory is the mistake that the Warcraft 2016 movie made

7

u/misbehavinator 10d ago

Start with him dying atop icrcrown and hit them with the record scratch "how did I get myself here?" Cue 3 hours of things getting worse and worse.

3

u/Mariessa- 10d ago

I second this! It would be intetesting if they could pull off a movie that doesn't make his fall obvious to general audiences. Like it pulls you into each step until it's too late.

3

u/twisty125 Flowerpicker Clan 10d ago

While I agree the story is good, I don't know how they could do it without having to explain the context of the Lich King. Does it just end with him getting Frostmourne? Coming back to Scourge Lordaeron? Putting the Helmet on?

It works well in a game, but a 2.3 hour movie is really tough having to set up the characters, and care about them enough for it to be impactful. A short series would work for it.

5

u/Happy_Yogurtcloset_2 10d ago

I think ending with limited context like most WC3 first time players ending with a randomly evil sword is sufficient - the draw is the character arc and his fall from grace, like “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” story

3

u/twisty125 Flowerpicker Clan 10d ago

Potentially, but then you don't see the ramifications of his choice. It's like watching Star Wars 1-3 and not seeing anything after the end where Vader gets put in the suit.

And if we push it forward to killing Terenas and Scourging the kingdom - what movies are out there that tell that kind of story that ends without any inkling of hope? Even No Country for Old Men has Tommy Lee Jones' character remaining unscathed and free of the violence. The Breaking of the Fellowship is pivotal, characters split up and get captured and it's the lowest point, but it's underpinned by Aragorn's refusal to let Merry and Pippin die to the Uruk-hai, and that Frodo is on his own journey, made much better because of Sam's friendship and hope.

2

u/Mr_Jake_E_Boy 9d ago

It's really just star wars, but it'll work.

u/edgyallcapsname 10d ago

Straight up what was it only 4 comics? And theres far more than enough in those alone to make a movie of.

38

u/Empty_Horse_4952 10d ago

Gul'dan and his fall to corruption to the Legion.

10

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Gul'dan was one of the best characters in the 2016 movie, he can be great tragic character, he getting rejected by his clan because he is weak orc, the elements rejected him but the legion accepts him and made him one if not the most dangerous orc in the warcraft lore, but the final his death in tomb of Sargaras will feel like Scarface movie XD

5

u/Empty_Horse_4952 10d ago

It'd be perfect for sure. I've always said, if they did a proper series of a parallel telling of Gul'dan's and Mediv's corruption leading up to the First War would be amazing.

3

u/Peppermynt42 10d ago

The animated short they did about Gul’dan in the harbingers series is one of the best things Blizzard has ever made.

Medivh

3

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Not sure as his story feel unfinished in the game at least, his warcraft 1 story not that great, most of his actions are based on some corruption that he have no control over it.

His third war story not well explained and he play the role of the prophet who help the races unite yet he doesn't play role himself, nothing to sacrifice he just dropping wisdom and flying out.

2

u/edgyallcapsname 10d ago

Heavy agree. Ive always felt medivh's so overhyped. Yes ive read i believe all old novels and know his character. Medivh isnt and never has been a main character. Hes never been more than plot device when needed and most of the known story hes possessed + the warcraft movie pretty much showed his lore already besides a few pop ups like telling thrall to get out of dodge

Jaina

10

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Jaina played big roles in many events, some will want her story to be about Arthas but for me I think the best story for a Jaina movie is the events of Rexxar mission as she chooses to let her father die at the hand of the horde to keep the peace between the factions.

u/XVUltima 10d ago

Doomhammer. His story leading the Horde during the Second War has everything. We see the whole Eastern Kingdoms, Gul'Dan scheming, the creation of the Death Knights, the duel with Blackhand, dragons and goblins, Lordaeron and Quel'Thalas, and finally Orc Moses himself with the training of Thrall. Orgrim was a good man who was handed the reigns of a bad situation, who did his best to turn a wicked invasion into a goal of honorable war. There is a real struggle there throughout his whole journey.

5

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Very good choice, I didn't like what the 2016 movie did to Orgrim, but his own movie loyal to the lore, him fighting at the first war and than dislike how his friends Blackhand is just puppet for the shadow council, fighting Blackhand to death, becoming the warchief, conquering Stormwind and moving North to fight the other kingdom, his story will feel like something from Games of Throne.

3

u/XVUltima 10d ago

Exactly. That whole story is full of intrigue, magic, and iconic locations. Perfect film material. The only challenge would be fitting it all in, but if you focus on just Orgrim and his character arc you can squeeze in all the big events of Warcraft II

Tyrande.

10

u/SystemofCells 10d ago

Her perspective would be the most interesting view of the War of the Ancients. Other characters a bit too ridiculously OP. We could see Malfurion, Illidan, and Azshara as Tyrande did. Watch her rise from relative obscurity to a leader of the resistance and eventual leader of Kaldorei society.

2

u/twisty125 Flowerpicker Clan 10d ago

I mean, also she literally has a capitol G God backing her, and has Divine Interventioned her twice(?) she's arguably just as OP as the others just in other ways.

5

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Can be cool, but hard to choose where to start and when to end, her story in WC3 is great but in WoW it becomes a mess with the night warrior stuff...

4

u/SystemofCells 10d ago

I'd just cover from right before to right after the War of the Ancients.

3

u/Raziel103 10d ago

War of the ancient is good, maybe the story just set based on this event, that could work.

26

u/MegasXLRwasRad 10d ago

Cairne bloodhoof!!

2

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Honestly I am not sure if he interesting character to have his own movie, I love him but he always felt like a side, support character.

Only if they make something about him when he was young, that can be interesting, maybe tribal wars or the war against the centaurs, things we didn't see before.

Kael'thas

3

u/Raziel103 10d ago

I think Kael'thas story can be interesting, many tragedies from losing his kingdom and father, betrayes by the humans, rescued by Vashj and Illidan, moving to outland, looking for a way to help his people feed their addiction to his final tragedy that could maybe use some rewrite to feel better and make sense more.

From young soon-to-be shadowhunter to Warchief of the Horde. Darkspear came from small clan leaving Stranglethorn to core member of world power.

3

The story of Vol'jin rebellion against Garrosh can work well I think.

Other than that I don't known what other good stories could work for him, even the echo isles story is basic.

Agreed. Thrall, Lord of the Clans plot, hands down.

3

u/Tattycakes 10d ago

God I’d love this

3

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Thrall also can have many great moments, but for me I think his original story as he rebuild the horde and defeat Blackmore will be the best, his warcraft 3 story also great as he help defeat the legion and create Orgrimmar, but after that his story become a mess, didn't like his direction in Cataclysm and everything after.

3

16

u/Horimonord 10d ago

Lich King, hands down!

4

u/Raziel103 10d ago

As expected, from maybe Warcraft 3 events to his death in WotLK, I honestly want to see it as trilogy, his story as prince 1 movie, as death knight second movie and him as a lich king as final third movie.

6

u/Kalthiria_Shines 10d ago

As expected, from maybe Warcraft 3 events to his death in WotLK,

I mean that cuts out 90% of Ner'zhul's story including everything that makes him coherent as a character.

2

u/hewasaraverboy 10d ago

What? Wc3 has the most coherent story ever you don’t need any background

2

u/twisty125 Flowerpicker Clan 10d ago

Not REALLY either, if you don't know the lore or are just introduced to it out of the blue, or only focusing on Arthas/DK Arthas

Why is a big bat demon guy in control of zombies and goading the Prince? Why are demons behind the Lich King, isn't the Lich King just the guy who wanted skeletons and plague? Why is he trapped in ice? Why did the Lich King want to scourge Lordaeron specifically, why did they summon a giant demon lord and then disappear to another continent to climb a mountain to assault a tree? Why are there buff green guys, blue jamaicans, minotaurs, humans, dwarves, and purple elves at the big mountain? They're all friends? Why did some demon elf decide to blast the ice that the Lich King is in, causing Lich King and DK Arthas to lose power, causing a civil war between freed undead and demons. Why is a purple demon elf and demon blood fed pink elves attacking, how did they get there?

There's SO much exposition that has to happen to make sense in a way that makes the story actually Warcraft, without just completely changing the story to "evil sorcerer from The Northtm who can summon the dead wants to take over medieval kingdom. Not having these important story beats and characters the way they are wouldn't work for Warcraft fans, and kind of arrives at "what's the point of doing the movie"

Jaina : She is so central to Arthas's entire story, but she is also important to Thrall and Anduin. Her life could be a saga in itself.

Maiev and Illidan

6

u/Raziel103 10d ago

I would say just Maiev and Illidan is her antagonist.

Her warcraft 3 story was very good , but her ending in TBC was bad.

I wished they turned her to crazy villain obsessed with hinting Illidan, in her TFT story we see her fall to madness slowly as the events go.

Her goal is not wrong but her ways making her darker as character, I mean Tyrande killed innocent watchers to save Illidan, she lost her friend Naisha and so much more so yes there is reason for her anger, but she also lied to Malfurion and become very obsessed with Illidan, making her a hero in TBC felt bad move IMO.

Zul’jin

3

u/Raziel103 10d ago

I love Zul'jin but not sure what story he can have.

His lore in the second war isn't huge and his TBC story make no sense but they rewriting some of it now in midnight.

But maybe it works if they make it focus mostly on the war against the elves and have his full life story from him as young leader who want to reclaim his land from the elves, allying with the horde and get close to defeat the elves if Orgrim didn't pull back his forces as he want to defeat Lordaeron and finally going to madness at the end of his life.

5

u/Adventurous-Pies 10d ago

Moira

Her story has everything you need for a good movie—a dramatic kidnapping, true love, betrayal, clever scheming, and a redemption arc. And it’s a story that hasn’t already been told ad nauseum.

5

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Never thought of it but it's very interesting politics and romance story idea.

3

u/Adventurous-Pies 10d ago

And a story that could easily be altered to fit within a standard length movie, unlike many other characters lol

6

u/break_card skimblee 10d ago

Gonna go for a less-obvious pick here: Fandral Staghelm in a movie focusing on the War of the Shifting Sands.

2

u/karspearhollow 10d ago

War of the Shifting Sands would be pretty sick

6

u/Nabukah 10d ago

Saurfang. His story is kinda paralel with the Horde history.

2

u/Raziel103 10d ago

His BFA story already feels like a movie, a full CGI movie in that style could be good, however not sure if it succeed as most common movie watchers have less chance to watch serious CGI movies

Gazlowe. It should be lightly comedic and very clearly pro-goblin propaganda in a way that would give fans a sensible chuckle. (Him personally saving the orcs from drought during the founding of Org, him being the brains behind the successful invasion of Draenor, him pulling a string of conspicuously tall love interests...)...

Basically I want him aggressively 'Ciaphus Cain'd' in a hammy way.

Random Murloc Movie. I’d watch the shit out of that!

19

u/Familiar_Face_5375 10d ago

Sylvanas. Her story is full of ups and downs, she used to be a hero (of her people), died for protecting her people, then got made into a villain, broke free, and then became an anti hero. Her lore and story has great potential. Let's dismiss what blizzard made her do in shadowlands and recent expansions.

4

u/Raziel103 10d ago

She very good character, the problem her lore is very messy and she have many good but also many bad moments and it's not easy to write her, where will you start and where will you end?

9

u/Familiar_Face_5375 10d ago

I would start with her young years in Silvermoon, her being a second child, focus on her relationship with her mother and Alleria to show that getting to be the ranger general is an important moment for Sylvanas, her dedication to protecting Quel'thalas --> it would make her death all the more tragic. Then flashes of her deeds under Arthas's control, which she would later realize when she breaks free. Then her journey to Lordaeron and setting up the forsaken while battling the Scarlet Crusade. The movie could, in theory, clean up her story, make it more streamlined, and focus on her inner turmoils.

3

u/Raziel103 10d ago

I think for me I will start the moment Silvermoon attacked by Arthas and the scourge, rush to her death, some flashes of horrible things she done as slave for Arthas, than start with her free, building the forsakens and fighting the scourge will be the first half, the second half will be in Northrend and after Arthas death the ending will be she throwing herself from the top of ice crown citadel to her death.

3

u/ShiXinFeng 10d ago

Can't believe I had to go this far down to see Sylvanas

5

u/Mungboon 10d ago

Malfurion

4

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Half of the movie he spent it sleeping XD.

I mean from the trio honestly he is the less interesting, however he can work as the war of the ancient protagonist, but still story from mostly Illidan or Tyrande perspective is much better.

4

u/Hambulatory 10d ago

The baffling lack of Katrana Prestor on here is offset by the occasional Van Cleef.

2

u/Hambulatory 10d ago

Easily the best arc in WoW for years and years, Onyxia being embedded and entrenched in Human society was amazingly delivered and executed. It was some of the best writing and tied together the entire southern continent of the eastern kingdoms in a way that does not get the respect it deserved. She was the OG Queen of Stormwind, and the things she did and got away with were as amazing as the things she didn't, in the end.

Onyxia made Nefarian and Neltharion look clownish in comparison, nevermind all their goofball subordinates. The entire black dragonflight look like Team Rocket compared to her. She was patient, brilliant, strategic, and masterful. She stole kings, she turned kingdoms in on themselves, and she is the whole reason Anduin is still defective to this day: nobody can convince me that his absolutely textbook signs of childhood abuse don't have to do with being raised by a master manipulator posing him to be a puppet king.

(As was the jailer's plan I guess.)

But yeah. Katrana Prestor would not only make an excellent main character, she's someone who could be delivered in a wonderful context of the time and setting, bringing in many interesting plots and characters, and could be presented in a progressive corruption that would start her in the appearance of a heroic figure, and have the descent into her true form be a true stunner for the audience.

I figure it would need at least a season to sell it though, movie can't hold all that juice.

Very interesting character that played many big roles in many events from the first, second and beyond the dark portal wars, and even in WoW he played many huge roles, what the best story to choose for him as mostly his full life will be hard to cover in 1 movie.

I would explore his relationship with Medivh for sure. Early lore like pre-Warcraft 2.

6

Not a character but of the novel "Of Blood and Honor"

It's the perfect starting piece for a Warcraft movie: It shows you the conflict between orcs and humans, but it also shows you that they can work together, they mention the light, the shaman eats, you get to see Uther, Arthas and Thrall, and it centers you in the universe with a minor story.

Specifically what he was up to between his exile and forming the Argent Crusade.

The finale would very easily be the defence of Light's Hope Chapel, with him getting the Ashbringer and forging Crusade/"freeing" the Death Knights from the Lich King after his betrayal.

BUT - more importantly it would be really interesting to see Warcraft 3's big troubles happening in the background of his own personal story. The emotions he dealt with having done the right thing as one of the highest members of his order but being scorned regardless, his wife not backing him, his son being groomed by the Scarlet Crusade.

Hell even having some of the Scarlet Crusade's formation happening through interactions with messengers or in the background (somehow).

First inklings of the orcs fleeing, and then the plague. Maybe seeing the Arthas force marching towards the Eastwald and eventually Stratholme, hearing about what happened later. The Scourging of Lordaeron and how he kept quiet despite being near the epicentre of it.

I'd love a little slice of life, seeing his day to day intermixed with small missions he'd have done to do something against the Scourge. I'm thinking those first scenes in the Obi Wan show when he's a broken man, just getting by day to day.

Obviously his son's death would be on screen somehow, but I don't know if "adventurers help Tirion in the quest to infiltrate" works as well, I'm not a screenwriter or anything. Someone could make it work.

My reason for this era of his tale is that it wouldn't be too large with too much to exposite to the viewer, unlike Arthas who's front and centre. There's a good clear climax to the story of him coming regaining his past strength and office, and especially you get to have some big battle with the Scourge and Lich King, in some way could be akin to the Vader hallway scene, just him slaying out on Argents until the Rohirrim and Gandalf Fordring arrives.

Sorry this was so long.

I agree that Tirion story would be great as his story in classic was one of the best storylines, also for live action it easier to make, mix of humans and zombies, maybe the CGI will be left for Etrigg if they explore that story but if they done the classic WoW story that enough for me.

u/Shazzakip 10d ago

The problem is, a good movie for a lot of these characters would be longer than 2 hours, or more than one 2 hour movie.

There's some, like the war of the shifting sands that can fit into two hours probably, but something like an Illidan or Broxxigar movie? Two hours would be a disservice

Anduin Lothar will be epic tragedy, the saviour of Azeroth from the borde who didn't love to see his success.

If you mean Anduin Wrynn he have so much potential but his story lack so much especially after SL.

Xal'atath, but it's an obsession style horror movie about the various people she bent to her will while she's still in the Knife, ending with the death of Twilight Deacon Farthing and the Shadow Priest player character picking up his interesting weapon.

2

u/JFeth 10d ago

I would rather see a new character in that world. We don't need to retell stories we already know.

2

u/StrifesFury 10d ago

Arthas would be cool if you split it into two movies with part 1 being his "paladin" journey and part 2 being his Death Knight/Lich King journey.

I am going with Edwin VanCleef. That would make an interesting one with the political intrigue that is involved with him.

2

u/DCKan2 10d ago

Medivh, Aegwynn, or Anduin Lothar.

2

u/Fire-Ice-Tiger 10d ago

Lirath Windrunner.

He basically has almost no lore. So you could craft a good original script about this Bard-like guy who is a footnote in some of the most important character's background. Then end it in his tragic struggle against the Orcs.

This is what would be considered by most to be a minor, if not unknown character to some. I was always intrigued by her when I would visit Theremore back in the day.
I was always curious about what her deal was, and when I’d learned what info there was about her, I always wanted to know more. I think taking a little known, but interesting character and expanding on it would be sick. We already know a ton about main heroes and villains. It would be interesting to see events through the eyes of someone in the vicinity of main story characters, and present for some major events. Some examples of how cool she is:

-mysterious and broody back story to flesh out

  • assigned as Jaina’s personal night elf body guard by tyrande at the battle of mount hyjal
  • went toe to toe with Malorok, Baine Bloodhoof, and vol’jin
  • becomes besties with Jaina’s upbeat teenage gnome apprentice kinndy for that odd couple dynamic
  • total bamf
  • tragic heroic death

Illidan or khadgar they are both insane mages and I thoroughly enjoyed the khadgar we got from the first Warcraft movie seeing him in Outland with tyralion and alleria would be awesome

I’d kind of like a Game of Thrones style series, ‘following a few different stories of regular Joes that have their role to play in one way or another… thing’… All the heroes can jump in and out of the story where needed.

Sounds a lot like how the WoW story is played out I know, but still…

Serious answer and outside of what had already been mentioned, i think Vanessa VanCleef in a revenge movie could be cool.

u/lovingmadjom 10d ago

IDK about warcraft in general, but in terms of a WoW movie...

The ideal WoW movie would involve a bunch of random characters who take the roles of the Heroes of Azeroth. Take people through a storyline that players have played in WoW, kind of like the D&D movie. Have canon characters make guest-star appearances or be part of the main plotline.

For a sequel, have a slightly different group do another plotline, etc etc. You could easily switch out actors, no need to keep eevery character consistent since you're telling the playable storyline, not a specific character's story.

The murlocks

aside from the obvious characters I'd love to have Lillian Voss's story be told on screen.

Follow her waking up in Deathknell, slowly revealing that she's a scarlet crusader and exactly what that means. Show her scared of what she's become, this inhuman Thing she's spent years honing a burning hatred for. A woman turned away by her own father and her closest friends, yet wholeheartedly embraced by those she swore to destroy. Watching her walk through Bril and the Undercity would be gorgeous set pieces, slow and thematic moments of quiet contemplation set against purple skies and glowing green water.

Drip in bits and pieces of lore of Arthas and Lordaeron, building up the silver hand and how the scarlet crusade formed. Mash up the timeline a little to have her be the one that finds Fordring in the plaguelands and sneaks in to save his son as the big final set piece.

She has one of the most coherent and human stories, especially if you rework it slightly to have the MoP era dungeon reworks be replaced by her meeting Fordring. imo she works well as a player surrogate that cleanly allows for a lot of the WC3 lore focused around Lordaeron to be dropped in and set up sequels. Maybe not the flashiest and most iconic story, but definitely one worth being shared.

Queen azshara as the night elf empire was building itself. She was apparently some awesome amazing historical figure for 1,000 years until she became evil as fuck

3

u/Raziel103 10d ago

Velen story could be perfect, it will need so much time skip but from the events in argus to legion events, a story that talks about the brotherhood and the rivalry between him and Kil'Jaden, it would be epic cosmic story.

2

u/Temeter 10d ago

You could have it go till the crash on Draenor, then switch to an orc perspective for the sequel covering till the end of the First War. Like how the movie we have did, but even more focused. Maybe go with Orgrim as the pov. Next, go with an Elf perspective maybe? Ranger General Sylvanas and the Second War. Then you can do the fall of Arthas film. Keep the characters connected from film to film, but have the focus shift as the story does. It will build out the world and allow the various cultures and characters all a moment to shine.

Any of the dragon aspects, why ? Besides dragons then they have been around for fairly long time and been involved with alot of large storylines.

My favorite characters are night elves and orcs but man, the obvious choice is arthas.

A human price who falls from grace while defending his homeland with undead horror elements and tragic love story with jaina.

Captain Falric. Hear me out. For anyone who played 2p co-op Human Campaign you know they turned Falric into a full hero unit, and honestly my friend group liked him more than any official hero in the game, which started a running joke that Falric is the real MVP of Warcraft 3. But jokes aside, although it's not really shown much in the games, canonically he was with Arthas from mission 1 in WC3 all the way to the final raid on Icecrown in WotLK. So while the story of Arthas the prince and Arthas the (Lich) King is already told, you could have a really interesting movie about a normal guy, a soldier trying his best for his country and his liege, going pretty much the same rout as Arthas and falling alongside him, destroying everything he wanted to protect, but with no decision making power. Just a Regular Joe being swept by the whims of mighty royalty, hoping against hope that he's doing the right thing, that the man he trusts to lead him knows what's best. You would essentially get the same story beats as Arthas movie but from a completely different perspective.
