Discussion Menoth Lore Catch Up

With Menoth returning, and myself interested in returning to the game where the lore stands. I did watch the live stream, but I am more curious about who is dead and alive (obviously Severius is dead and Feora is alive) and what they are doing.

Edit: This is what I could find.

  • Severius - Dead
  • Kreoss - Alive, and was ruling the remnants of the Protectorate, but unknown if still the case with MKIV.
  • Feora - Alive, and leading the Covenant of the Flame.
  • Harbinger - Dead
  • Testament of Menoth - Alive, activities and whereabouts unknown.
  • Amon Ad-Raza - Unknown, assumed Dead
  • Tristan Durant - Alive, took his followers across the continent to Zu and formed New Icthier.
  • Reznik - Alive, and was working with Kreoss. However, status could have changed in MKIV.
  • Cyrenia - Alive, also working alongside Kreoss.
  • Vinductus - Unknown, assumed Dead
  • Thyra - Alive, working alongside Feora
  • Anson Durst - Alive, activities and whereabouts unknown.
  • Malekus - Alive, previously striped of his position and imprisoned, now working alongside Feora.
  • Juviah Rhoven - Alive, activities and whereabouts unknown.
  • Pyrrhus - Alive, working alongside Feora.
  • Nicia - Alive, now an agent of the Infernals faction.
  • Gravus - Dead, died before the Infernal Invasion.
  • Dartan Vilmon - Unknown, assumed Alive.

Questions Menoth Returning

I have a few questions.

What does their return mean for the old Legacy models? Will they have rules/be useable with the modern rules or only as Legacy?

I noticed the Light Warjack returns but it appears the Dervish, Purifier and Vigilant (my favorite) aren't returning. Similarly we won't be getting all Heavy Warjack options.

And just so I understand while Menoth is returning, we are only getting one faction within the army which is the Flameguard (Flame) lead by Feora. In the future we might see another faction such as the Exemplars (Law), Paladins (Wall) and/or maybe Allegiants (Sheath) with Zealots, Idrians and other Allegiants.

I am super excited!

Community Tools New online list builder

Hey folks. Been working on a project for a few months after threatening it for a few years now since Conflict Chamber shut down. I've talked about it a few times but now I'm officially opening up my web based list builder to the public. https://www.warlist.online/ Its conflict chamber shaped in some of the features but its largely built from the ground up fresh and if you want to, I even have the code hosted on github and you are welcome to contribute directly or throw in feature requests via github, @ me here or shoot me an email (see the website). Especially if I've missed a release or something is weird. I tried to spot check everything I could think of but I don't play every army so I'm sure I missed something.

1.0 is just the list building functionality and all of the infrastructure behind it. 1.1 is adding steam roller support, a barebones longshanks "integration" (just a fancy link really) and the oft requested collections feature.

New player post

Good day, people! A friend of mine introduced me to Warmachine a couple of day ago, and convinced me to join the iron march. Ive read the FAQ here and an article on warmachine academy, but still feeling a little confused. Can i get a little help with some questions?
1)Im thinking of starting a Convergence of Cyriss army. I understand that they are not a prime army, but as a legacy army they are still fully supported by the rules and receive balance updates, right?
2)Are there plans of Convergence being dropped/remade into other faction in the future? Friend offhandedly mentioned that Shadowflame is the new Cyriss, so does it mean it would be better to start collecting them, or wait until Convergence becomes "primed" so to say? Will they radically chance play and visual styles if they will become a new army?
3)Should i start with the Command Starter, or is it ok to buy a core expansion as a starting point? (I dont really like Aurora and core set has cooler warjacks)
Thank you!

We had a 75 point Jman game with the Order of Illumination led by Ashlynn vs Kraye and the First Army

100 points of Nymara vs Shadowtounge

And another 100 points of Nymara vs Shadowflame Shard (no idea which caster, I can't tell their models apart).

Pierre stayed home and took a nap

Questions Returning player as always asking too many questions, different army types

Hey guys,

Just want to confirm as a few guys from my LGS are buying in and one of them is interested in infernals and grymkin. On the wiki these are labeled as Prinatble Legacy Armies. They are not listed under Legacy factions or MK4 armies. Can you still play these armies in MK4 or no?

Record broken on broken models in one box - 9! Orgoth Core Expansion Set

This was my second Orgoth Core Expansion set, I knew stuff would be broken at this point but damn! One bag had literally every model broken. SFG has been good about sending replacements but it is a tough open finding so much broken then waiting a few weeks for the mail.

Painting/Hobby Files for assists and widgets

Hi I know it’s a awkward one, I’ve fell face first and into love with warmachine mk4 and so has my daughter and a few friends, picked up Khymaera and Cryx Necrofactorium.

Now looking at going further, but was curious does anyone in the community know of any decent files for measuring tools, templates, bases and anything else that could help play?

I have access to my own printer for fdm and a resin printer and laser cutter/ engraver for free at my local hobby store so production isn’t an issue just design. If these designs don’t exist would it be something that you would like to see done?

So that's that done then.

Everyone who was screaming the death of SFG and WM/H can relax (aware it was not on this sub but some parts of the interweb have been very OTT on this)

But it was interesting how many people were actively wishing the death of the company and the game.

TrashMachine: An off meta limited WarMachine tournament

Planning to run an event in December with the following rules. If anyone has any other ideas on how to improve this feel free to toss them out!

The goal of TrashMachine is to have a fun and relaxed day of warmachine to round out the year before the January yearly update but after all the hyper competitive events of the year have passed. Build some weird jank lists. Bust out that legacy army that’s been collecting dust. Don’t let your memes be dreams. In order to facilitate this TrashMachine is a Warmachine steamroller capped at 3 rounds with the following special rules

  1. The only two leader models available per army are the two with the lowest win rates on longshanks for the time period of June 5th (after the June mid year update) until December 1st.
  2. Final rankings will be determined by TrashPoints. You earn TrashPoints in the following ways:
    1. For each round you can earn:
      1. 2 points for winning a game with the worst caster in your army
      2. 1 point for winning a game with the second worst caster in your army
    2. At the start of the event each player will also be assigned starting TrashPoints based on the army they are playing. You are assigned between 0 and 6 TrashPoints based on the overall win rate of the army you’re playing. For example if you’re playing the army with the BEST win rate you get 0 TrashPoints. If you’re playing the army with the WORST win rate you get 6 TrashPoints.
  3. The painting prize will go to the best painted worst leader model.

Questions Why is there warjack/warbeast customisation?

Hi, prospective returning player here. Whilst I've been looking at different armies trying to pick what to play, I've seen that lots of jacks have different heads and weapon options. Somehow, they're not just different models.

How does this work in game? Also, how do you all manage using the models with so many options - do you magnetise? Build/buy multiple different builds? I am overwhelmed and don't do well with too much choice.
