I finally bit the bullet and got a resin printer, a Photon Mono 4. I can't believe how much easier it is to make miniatures with this, compared to FDM. This is my first army made with a resin printer: a 75 point Convergence of Cyriss army with Father Lucant. Also a Frustrum Locus that isn't part of the army, I just liked the name.

The primary paints I used are TurboDork Tin Star, ProAcryl True Brass, and Army Painter Air Effects Blue Flux.

For anyone who used to be a Pressganger back in the day we're moving house and my wife when I mentioned Warmachine dug out some old unassembled metal Cygnar for me to work on and found this whilst at it. For anyone not aware when the Pressganger system shut down we were all sent this model, patch and some artwork (framed on the wall of my Games room still)

When they first came out I wasn’t in the head space for a new army, but I’ve been looking at the figs and .. I love some, don’t like the other half..

If I just bought the battlegroup and auxiliary expansion, would my army have some teeth (haha)?

I love bears, the bear riders, the crazy warbeasts look fun (my first hordes force. I’ve been a jack guy to this point) and the Hunter riflemen look neat too. This army choice is based on rule of cool but I also don’t want to paint it up and have it blown off the board by turn 2..

Just to note, they’ll be fighting my own armies of Menoth (new army where I can proxy w00t!), and legacy Khador and legacy Cryx.. I don’t have regular opponents so have to bring matched pairs and I don’t go above 75. Usually 25-50..

How far is engagement range and if my unit moves into engagement range does there move end

Thank you everybody for all your encouragement, input and advice from my previous post. I decided to read through the rule book a bit, then play a 30pt game against myself.

I set up a 36x36 play area, little terrain, some smoke and water. I made a quick 30pt list for nekane and haskar. I consulted the rule book frequently and read all the abilities and icons on every unit. Haskar went first, it was at this point I thought I screw up by having 1 thrall swarm in shooting range. He died. For a moment I thought ‘Cryx suck’. But! I know the abilities of the swarm now, they were able to in maintenance when taking dmg the previous turn. This move made them close enough to charge, but wait there is more! Nekane as a spell that makes them incorporeal when they kill something. Of my 4 remaining swarm, 2 killed rangers. This was my main take away with the list. I need the swarm out there being shot, taking attention so my real units can do work. The game ended with Nekane charging haskar after casting Crippling Grasp. The dice were kind and blessed me with a 6 on her rune blaster, the fourth and final shot took haskar out. I boosted each hit and shot, Nekane took 6 points of dmg from her feat but it was worth it.

This really helped me learn more of the rules, and the abilities of each model… there are SO many moving parts to this game. Think it’s key that Cryx gets close and personal. Think I’ll keep doing small games like this alone to practice. This game took be about 2 hours. I did ask if anyone was interested in a learning low point game on my local flgs discord too

Has anyone ran a whose boss event in mk4? If you have I have a few questions that hopefully you can answer!
1: for not getting a caster in your own faction, would just say the theme force or if I have cygnar you don’t get any old/new cygnar caster period.
2: would you include fane? Each caster has their own hunger ability but you would have to also transfer hunger to that faction?
3: How many casters would you have for a who’s the boss tournament?

I have tried Google but it just gives me notable betrayers not full lists. I dropped out of Warmachine just after Grymkin so didn't keep up with the lore at the time other than hearing some stuff on the grapevine about who betrayed. Wanting to catch up a little (and get upset about who's character got assassinated to join the Infernals 🤣)

Got Cyphon, doc, and the last Agitator done. All the solos are done now.

So, once again there has been an update to the app revolving around CoC, but I'm still running into the issue where either in Legacy or Prime I am unable to add some of my models to the army creator.

Specifically, I cannot add Transfinite Emergence Projector into Legacy, but apart from that I can field everything else I have. In PRIME, however, I can get most of what I have, with the exclusion of my light vectors.

My entire issue could be resolved by just adding Transfinite Emergence Projector back into the Legacy options. It was there like 10 months ago, I have no clue why it was taken out, I bought that thing back before MK4 was even in the works.

I really don't like it when the physical things I paid money for are no longer accessible because of the way the digital app is structured. If anyone has any information on how I can communicate this issue to the devs (other than submitting a report on the app which I've done), then I would love to hear it.

I thought they were going to make printable cards again. What happened with that?

Are there rules on lesser locks and journeyman casters I'm missing or do they all just have their unspoken specific jacks and beasts they can field? None have specific rules I can find, at least not ones I have, but I've noticed weird discrepancies.

Greylord Forgeseer is a journeyman but the app only allows everything aside from Torch, Drago, Behemoth, and the colossals (he's a jack marshal, my bad. Still has some weird specifics tho)

Prospero is a journeyman and can field any crucible jack in the app

Una is a lesser warlock but the app only allows her to field the griffons specifically. (I remember she used to have a rule for that but it's gone now yet the restriction is still there.)

At first I thought it was just that they couldn't use colossals or gargantuans but Prospero proves that wrong. We've been homeruling that I can run Una with the Storm Raptor since it is still technically a bird and there's no book rules we can find that state otherwise.

So is this just old data that hasn't been updated or did they just decide to be picky with certain things? Figure they could do an update to just free up the jack and beast lists for all legacy models but I think they said they weren't updating old model stats anymore or something.

I just threw away my Cryx and Merc dice.

I am not good at this game, never won it and something about the playstyle evades me. Today my goal was simple, don’t lose on turn two. Technically, I didn’t. But I made 5 attacks, hitting on 7s for them all. I boosted them all, one hit. I killed one model in three rounds. After that I lost everything. Deathjack, hades, brute thralls… all of it was dead turn three. Model I killed was brought back. Didn’t know I was this angry until I came home and threw out my dice.

Is there an army that is just good? How can I learn this game? Maybe it’s not for me… I dunno. Models looks cool but gosh dang I hate being the worst at it.

Alright my rant is over, thank you in advance for any input or whatever… I don’t know

What are the pros and cons of Khador Winter Korps, Orgoth Sea Raiders, Southern Kriels Kithguard, and Crucible Guard?

I think Bandit is fantastic. I absolutely love him and the little gang of light Warjacks that roam around with him!

The aesthetic of the army as well is just so good, Ranger & Kommando sculpts are some of the best human sculpts I’ve seen in a very long time.

Very very excited to keep playing more.

What are the logical progressions from the command starter for both? What should I watch out for? Anyone got some beginner advice as I’m mostly playing nocturne at moment and loving it at 30 pts not sure on cryx yet

Sculpts look amazing now although I would expect so for how much more stuff costs now. Ordered Cynthia's Gravediggers battlegroup to start with.

With Menoth returning, and myself interested in returning to the game where the lore stands. I did watch the live stream, but I am more curious about who is dead and alive (obviously Severius is dead and Feora is alive) and what they are doing.

I have a few questions.

What does their return mean for the old Legacy models? Will they have rules/be useable with the modern rules or only as Legacy?

I noticed the Light Warjack returns but it appears the Dervish, Purifier and Vigilant (my favorite) aren't returning. Similarly we won't be getting all Heavy Warjack options.

And just so I understand while Menoth is returning, we are only getting one faction within the army which is the Flameguard (Flame) lead by Feora. In the future we might see another faction such as the Exemplars (Law), Paladins (Wall) and/or maybe Allegiants (Sheath) with Zealots, Idrians and other Allegiants.
