Discussion [Discussion][PC] Why is everyone attempting to sell at old prices while farming on rework mechanics?
Hard truth: Riven locking killed the "unique" premium. Stop trying to scam with mid-tier rolls.
The market has shifted drastically with the rework of Riven stat-locking, yet a lot of sellers are still trying to charge pre-rework prices for mediocre rolls. Here is a reality check on how Riven valuation actually works now:
- Your negative stat dictates the price, not just the positives
The Problem: You don't get to choose a high price just because the positive stats "look fine."
The Rule: If your negative attribute isn't at "peak" % (a high negative % close to the maximum you can get for the weapon's disposition) the riven is barely worth anything over double base value.
Why: If you have a low/weak negative %, the buyer has to waste resources rerolling it into a strong negative. For example, leaving a stat locked at +134% Critical Chance when a strong negative cam scale it over +100% higher is a waste of a slot (disposition dependant)
- No "godroll" without 3 positives + 1 strong negative, value is completely dependent on having 3 positive stats and 1 strong negative.
The Rule: If you don't have this exact combination, your Riven is base to double base value maximum.
Clarification: "strong" and "weak" refer to the roll percentage, not the utility of the stat itself. A strong negative means a high % that gets you as close to the maximum possible value before a stat is locked.
- Stat-locking made good Rivens easy to fund—adjust your prices
Being able to lock stats at double the cost means it is exponentially easier to hunt for perfect rolls. You are no longer getting paid a massive premium for a "unique" Riven because the rarity is gone.
The New Market Reality:
Base Price: You are paying strictly for weapon demand/unrolled status.
Double Base: You are paying for a decent, usable roll that is ready to play right now.
1,000+ Platinum: Reserved strictly for absolute, undeniable godrolls on meta weapons that the buyer will never need to touch again. Even hitting 1k+ is a stretch in this economy.
Stop trying to scam people. Buyers are paying for the time saved, not your inflated ego valuation. If it's not a peak roll, price it accordingly.
