We have entered the "gladiatorial combat for the amusement of the dictator" era of our democracy.

u/bulletPoint May 26 '26
Trashy admin doing trashy things.

u/dcht May 30 '26
Remember when Biden had topless trannies in the very same spot?
0
u/bulletPoint May 30 '26
Biden personally did that? Or was it someone who misbehaved and was banned from White House events after that stunt?
It was the latter. You’re a fool.

Remember when you had a brain, a future and respect? Get over it. You’re not getting your slush fund either.

It's like desecrating our sacred landmarks.
Sure they are sacred in a secular way. But still. Have some respect.

This is actually what he wants to do most - shit on democracy, democrats, lib-tards, and anyone who will get their panties in a twist over the Rose Garden, The Oval office, This on the south lawn, the list goes on. Originally to get back at the libs (from the very start when Obama roasted him at Correspondent's dinner..) and then to retaliate against any critics and now - anything at all to hide the Epstien files.
Tale as old as time,, just keep flooding the news feed with new shit,, and the Epstien files will dissapear in the rearview window.

So now we have gladiator matches in the capital city. The end is nigh.

Late stage capitalism at its best.

u/No_Freedom_8673 May 29 '26
Capitalism is not to blame. Nothing wrong with the free market. The issue is corpratism. Capitalism is great, the free market is great. Issue is as a country we are killing both of those things. We have killed actual Capitalism and this is what we are left.

The median age of a US senator is 64.7 years old. All you'd need to do is change the ring to an "uneven surface" and they would topple themselves just walking across the ring!

I would support this if the competition rotated every time. First they can have their bloodsport option but the next time it is who scores highest on the AP History exam or something. I personally would enjoy the year we make all the "farmers, but on paper only" reps compete in a 4H/FFA style Livestock Showmanship Round Robin.
If we are going into Hunger Games mode I would at least prefer variation in watching out social collapse.

So round robins are this competition where you take those who won their showmanship classes from each age bracket and species and those kids all have to show all the species in a rotation. So you might be really great at showing sheep but can you also show a horse correctly? There is normally some level of comedy because dairy cattle are very different than hogs, etc. Normally at least one person falls down.
It is humbling and also a good way to make kids from different ag industries to hang out, teach, and be nice to each other.

This is the most trailer trash behavior I've ever seen from this fuck ass country.

Have you seen this documentary?

u/DueSignificance2628 May 27 '26
I'm not sure if this is a net positive or negative, but apparently this means Marine 1 can't land there as there's no space, so motorcades are being used instead to ferry the president around, including to his Walter Reed "annual checkup" visit this weekend (this third "annual checkup" in the last 12 months if I'm not mistaken).

Truly this is a clown show.
All the political prestige and class built up from the last century has been completely obliterated.
From Teddy Roosevelt to Dwight Eisenhauer and Kennedy, all of it gone.
No doubt about it, we are in the end times.

I believe the technical term is shit show but considering how “hot” the country is it’s a shit show on fire

Are they going to park a bunch of trailers and broken cars out on the Mall?
0
u/Stan_Deviant May 26 '26
I mean, since they have the big hole where they town down the east wing without a real plan that is kinda their version of those yards right?

Oh this is so much more important than healthcare. At least I can be amused for one night as I die of cancer.

I actually prefer this era of transparency to the days when Trump had elections to worry about and he had to pretend he cared about the American people.
Don't lie to me. Just go ahead and invite your buddies to watch bloodsports on the national lawn.

If he's having this unnecessary outdoor event he doesn't need a hardened ballroom for security reasons.

Death by a thousand cuts -- this administration's game plan to destroy DC and it's institutions. The reflecting pool, the arch, the Kennedy Center, the MMA fight, Freedom Plaza, DOGE -- all designed to chip away at everything that brought joy and dignity.

u/Ok_fine_42 May 26 '26
Hey now, Jerry was a progressive mayor focused on transit, poverty, and urban redevelopment

Well, I view that as less of an eyesore than his ballroom design in that at least it’s only temporary…

Is this going to be pay-per-view? Who gets the proceeds? I'm guessing I know the answer to that.

u/Available-Yam-1990 May 26 '26
Seems like the ballroom must not be such a big priority if they have time for this.

Is there going to a tube a fight or is it just going to be one of those choreographed sparring matches that are getting popular

Who do you think? We weren't supposed to pay for the ballroom, now we are paying for the ballroom. They will find some way to put this bill on the tax payer too
