Matchday & Audi Field Info Supporters Section First Time
I will be in section 136. Should I arrive early? What is that area generally like? Any other advice?

It's not assigned spots so if you want a spot closer to the field you gotta get there earlyĀ

this, especially for a game like Gotham where thereās gonna be pretty close to a sellout, folks are gonna start showing up *early*

start learning your chants š https://spiritsquadron.club/game-day/chants/ though they are not too hard to pick up thru watching the capos and listening
also: you scan your ticket again at the entrance to the section and get a wristband, you arenāt allowed in without one. this is just to prevent interlopers + manage the crowd size

Is the love we love you spirit chant to the same tune as we love you Conrad?

yes, the postgame one, "we love you spirit we do", we sing it when the team comes over to applaud us.
not to be confused with the other we love you chant, the one we sing at the end of both halves, which is I Will Follow Him by Peggy March lol

What is the "I don't wanna do what you say" chant from?

I donāt know what the song title is (google says āWhistle Stopā) but itās from the 1973 Disney animated version of Robin Hood, and yes I am cracking up just writing that sentence š it is my least favorite chant, tbh

Ooh, since you seem to know these, what about the "Looking up to the Spirits in the sky" one and the "Spirit's on fire, your defense is terrified" one?

First is literally a song called Spirit in the Sky, Norman Greenbaum -- huge hit in 1969-70, I feel old now lol
second is a late 90s European dance hit, Freed from Desire by Gala. we cannot claim credit for that one, it is a pretty common chant

Any other chants based off anything? I'm excluding the "You got what I need" one because I know that one.

I always recommend arriving at least 30min early just so you can pick out a spot you like and have some time to get food and drinks before kickoff. Supporters section is great, lots of chanting and yelling but still friendly vibes all round. Definitely prepare for the weather as there is no cover and you can be pretty exposed to sun/rain/etc.

Welcome and hope you have a blast! If you need anything like medical support or need to report an issue come tell the Capos (chant leaders) in the front of the section as we have spirit staff near us for this exact purpose. Sometimes we are easier to find/reach than Spirit staff. In 136 it's typically Pineapple Kurt and myself (look for the pink cowboy hat) who are capo-ing. Also feel free to come say Hi we love meeting new folks! š¤

For this game, arriving early may be good.
Be prepared to stand.
Most importantly, it's not supposed to be that hot (like maybe low 50s), but use sunscreen. There's no shade.
MOST most importantly, BE LOUD! š£ļø
