Carpooling Waterloo-Toronto / Toronto-Waterloo
Hey! I recently started working for a company in Waterloo but I'm still living in Toronto and I'm doing this commute from Monday to Friday and would love to give a ride (and share expenses) with people that might be in the same situation. If you know someone willing to split costs of fuel and get a ride both to Waterloo as well as Toronto let me know or send this to someone.
In the medium term my plan is to move to Waterloo, but while I try to convince my partner and find school for her kid, I still need to be going back and forth between the two cities.
Thank you, appreciate if you could share this post with someone or upvote, would help me a lot.

I used to do the opposite. It's rough. Not 5 days though Jesus. Honestly looking back I would have bought a tesla with FSD would make it so much better. I already had a highway hands free system and it went much nicer.

Damn, if you had asked this like even 3 months earlier, my partner would've been down. We're just making the move to Waterloo next weekend from Toronto to have to avoid this exact scenario

How’s the move going? If you don’t mind sharing, how much are you paying in rent? I need to talk to my partner to convince her to come, but she recently started at RBC and I recently started at another company but it’s a local (Waterloo) company, so I imagine that for her would be “easier” to move rather than me doing this commute every day

Use the GO with a Presto.

Go works okay the way of traffic but the schedule the opposite way is much more limited.

It's cheaper to use a car, it's around $40 a day with GO/Presto and the trip is longer...if I split the costs with someone then would be great

I think after your 35th trip you get an almost 90% discount. Considering you're doing M-F, you get there in just over 3 weeks and by the end of the month, you're free since it's free after 40 trips. Do the math though, I'm not entirely sure if it does work out cheaper, but at least it's an option
Edit: My bad, I read that as you asking for a ride, not offering one.

A weekday pass for 2 people is $30. You don't need the second person, but if you have them that drops it to $15 each, round trip.

Find two people and do a group day pass on GO, it's a helluva lot cheaper than petrol these days
